Discover 7 Captivating Callings in BREAK!! RPG: Anime-Style Classes with Unique Abilities

In a new twist on role-playing games, BREAK!! RPG offers a unique approach with its “callings” – similar to classes in games like Dungeons & Dragons. These callings let players assume various roles that significantly influence game mechanics and storytelling. Each calling comes with a unique set of skills, playstyles, and narrative possibilities, enabling diverse character development options.

In the abundance of captivating choices, it’s quite a challenge to select merely one for my inaugural character in “BREAK!! RPG“. There are several vocations that resonate with my playstyle and preferences, yet others entice me with their rich lore and roleplaying opportunities. The game offers a variety of powerful warriors, supportive artisans, wise spellcasters, and more. Among the many professions, these seven particularly pique my interest due to their distinct playstyles or roleplaying possibilities. I eagerly anticipate immersing myself in these intriguing roles within “BREAK!! RPG“.

Battle Princess

In the game BREAK!! RPG, the Battle Princess character stands out as the cutest and anime-inspired class, which I wholeheartedly approve of. The Battle Princess evokes a sense of familiarity with the Paladin class from Dungeons & Dragons (my preferred choice), yet offers a blend of both supportive and aggressive abilities. What makes this character particularly unique is the Heart’s Blade, a weapon that materializes from the desires in your heart. As a Battle Princess progresses through the ranks, this weapon transforms and strengthens, adopting new forms and increasing in power. Additionally, it can be customized into various weapon versions.

Beyond just using the Heart’s Blade, Battle Princesses possess the ability to employ Radiant Magic for shielding allies, defeating enemies, conjuring a magical Comrade-in-Arms, and facilitating negotiations beyond battlefields. The versatility of the Battle Princess role is vast, with many creative applications of their mystical power. I’m referring to traditional swordplay and sorcery, but also culinary arts, dance, and even the strength of camaraderie. Battle Princesses are undeniably enchanting characters in the BREAK!! RPG, captivating a wide range of players.

Factotum

In the game BREAK!! RPG, the Factotum is another captivating role that echoes anime, following the Battle Princess. The Factotums act as cunning merchants, ambitious explorers, and valiant common folk. This profession leans towards excelling at tasks, often creative or related to office work. Players who enjoy intrigue, creativity, and invention will find the Factotum appealing, with D&D’s Artificer serving as a close comparison. Although a Factotum may not directly influence battles, they can offer various indirect advantages.

The skills of a Factotum are both practical and amusing; notably, the Factotum Pack and Don’t Mind Me traits. The Factotum Pack resembles something straight out of anime, allowing players to equip an oversized backpack that the Factotum effortlessly carries, despite its size being too large for them. On the other hand, Don’t Mind Me prevents Factotums from being targeted in combat unless they choose to engage in an offensive or harmful action. Additional abilities of the Factotum offer flexibility both during and outside of battle, offering support and utility.

Heretic

In my opinion, the “Heretic” character from the game “BREAK!! RPG” stands out as one of my favorites, sharing some resemblance with the “Warlock” class in “Dungeons & Dragons“. Heretics obtain their power by studying the Blasphemous Text and summoning the Sealed Names, which are potent entities with erratic behaviors. Although Heretics possess an eerie aura due to their summoning capabilities, they aren’t necessarily evil in nature. The spirits that Heretics can conjure originate from the Realms of the Profound Dark and Invincible Bright, leaving it to the player and game master to decide how the character’s aura is portrayed.

Heretics provide a dynamic, uncertain approach in gameplay due to the diverse Sealed Names they can summon, making each summon a roll of the dice. Each Sealed Name possesses unique skills and traits, offering flexibility in character development – something that really appeals to me. Furthermore, the Fitful Sleep trait allows Heretics to converse with the game master for hints, often received as riddles or cryptic answers, adding a rich role-playing aspect to their gameplay. I find Heretics an intriguing idea and am seriously considering them for my initial character creation.

Murder Princess

In the game BREAK!! RPG, the character opposite the Battle Princess is known as the Murder Princess. Unlike the Battle Princess, who embodies brightness, the Murder Princess represents a gloomy day, or even a dark, vengeful counterpart to the Paladin from D&D. The Murder Princess wields both destructive magic and martial skills, making her a formidable force in battle and conversation. Her role exudes a strong, intimidating presence that leaves those who cross her path feeling fearful and unsure.

Similar to the Battle Princess, the Murder Princess acquires a distinctive weapon called Wrath’s Blade, which becomes more potent as her status progresses in level. The Murder Princess is renowned for her relentless determination and iron will, employing abilities to surpass ordinary boundaries and re-roll dice at the expense of her own vitality. I find the Murder Princess fascinating with her intense aggression, yet surprising flexibility in character construction, offering a great deal of freedom during character creation.

Raider

In terms of swiftness and nimbleness, the Raider is an exceptional choice for a playstyle that emphasizes speed. In the game BREAK!! RPG, the Raider offers the optimal build for a swift attacker character, such as a ranger or monk in Dungeons & Dragons. Raider characters excel in quick battles, striking and then evading, or launching attacks from behind enemy lines. No matter how players choose to play their Raider, this role is all about agility on the battlefield and employs a variety of tactics for swift combat.

Raiding parties are quick and elusive, excelling at hit-and-run tactics and proving difficult to target effectively due to their high speed ratings in BREAK!! RPG. With the Sidestep skill, they can either evade incoming attacks or effortlessly dodge strikes. Moreover, their Hunter’s Focus allows them to concentrate on a single enemy, enhancing their offensive capabilities significantly. This makes Raiders a formidable threat on the battlefield.

Sage

Take a break! In the role-playing game (RPG), a character known as Sage is comparable to the wizard and sorcerer class in Dungeons & Dragons. When creating a Sage, players have significant flexibility, but their power primarily relies on the method they choose for studying magic. A Sage’s personality can influence their magic, so it’s essential to collaborate with the game master to emphasize this aspect. As anticipated, Sages concentrate on mental abilities through research, study, and practical applications, which may weaken their physical attributes. However, certain spells can compensate for this, and Sages often benefit from having a Guardian, Murder Princess, or Battle Princess in their team.

As a budding Sage, I find my journey embarked upon with a grimoire and a staff – two essential tools that form the foundation of my magical path. My grimoire, brimming with mystery, serves as my exclusive canvas for inscriptions, yet it possesses a life of its own, sometimes jotting down things unbidden. In parallel, my staff is an extension of my power, enabling me to cast fundamental spells like Spell Push and Magelight, lighting the way on this mystical quest. As I ascend through the ranks, I unlock more potent and varied spells, surpassing the initial Prestidigitonium. Much like the Heretic, my arsenal of magic is adaptable, depending on the spells I choose to wield.

Sneak

As a stealthy gamer, I’m teaming up with the edgy D&D rogues in the thrilling world of BREAK!! RPG. We’re not here for honor, we’re here to get things done, and we do it by any means necessary – usually without making a sound or leaving a trace. Our specialty lies in agility and guile, making us masters at puzzle-solving, clue-gathering, and covert operations. In battle, we prefer to outsmart and outmaneuver our enemies rather than engage them directly. It’s a game of shadows, my friends.

Just as anticipated, a Sneak boasts characteristics geared towards stealth, agility, and keen perception. Equipped with the Light Footed trait, this role can bypass challenging terrains and ascend effortlessly. For stealth, Sneaks begin with Furtive and Sticky Fingers abilities. The Furtive talent grants an advantage during stealth checks, allowing them to maintain covert movements even when their party adopts diverse movement types. As the name suggests, Sticky Fingers endows this role with proficiency in pilfering items or personal effects, including on the battlefield, albeit with some exceptions.

In the game BREAK!! RPG, there are eight distinct character classes available, and although the Guardian seems intriguing, it doesn’t align with my preferred playstyle as much as the other seven highlighted options. Despite having only eight classes, the game offers a wide range of possibilities for character creation and team composition. Each class presents multiple paths to create a unique character and supports diverse playstyles. Additional callings may be introduced to BREAK!! RPG in the future, and a second Kickstarter is scheduled for a tutorial adventure titled START. While this upcoming Kickstarter hasn’t announced any new classes yet, it will introduce new ancestries, indicating that the tabletop role-playing game will receive additional content in the future.
