Another plane crash has tragically occurred on U.S. soil.
A helicopter emergency medical service suffered an accident in Philadelphia approximately 6:30 p.m. on January 31, not long after it took off en route to the Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, according to the company’s statement to NBC News.
As I recount the events, let me share that there were six individuals aboard our Learjet 55: a young pediatric patient, her devoted caretaker, and four dedicated crew members. Jet Rescue Air Ambulance verified this to the media outlet. The child on this flight was returning home to Mexico following critical “life-saving treatment” in the U.S., as a representative from our company shared with NBC10 Philadelphia.
After the medical procedure was completed, she was prepared for discharge. Our duty then was to transport her back to Mexico, specifically to Tijuana International Airport, where a ground ambulance awaited for her departure.” (This version maintains clarity and flows smoothly.)
As reported by Mayor Cherelle Parker during a press conference, it remains undetermined how many casualties occurred following an aircraft crash close to Philadelphia’s Roosevelt Mall. The incident resulted in damage to several buildings and vehicles.
A confirmation from NBC10 stated that six individuals, none of whom were on the plane, sustained injuries during the crash and were taken to Temple University Hospital’s Jeanes Campus for treatment. Fortunately, three of them have already been discharged.
A nearby resident reported experiencing and hearing an explosion, adding that someone was on fire following a crash.
Suddenly, without any warning, it seemed as if everything around was trembling, a bystander explained to NBC10. I had the feeling that buildings were collapsing or something similar. Upon stepping outside, I was met with an enormous explosion. As I looked out, there it was – a massive fireball.
He went on to say, “Initially, I began trembling, and then I witnessed someone sprinting while engulfed in flames. I was utterly bewildered. I stood there, frozen with shock. It’s the kind of thing you’d expect from a film, but experiencing it firsthand is truly disquieting.
After the accident, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro briefed residents about the city’s ongoing actions.

Following the recent tragic accident involving a private jet, which took the lives of all 67 on board, it’s been decided that the National Transportation Safety Board, currently investigating the American Airlines crash that happened two days ago, will also lead the investigation into this latest incident.
According to a statement made by the FAA on January 31, both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be conducting an investigation. The NTSB will take charge of this probe and will deliver regular updates as the investigation progresses.
