At long last, after what seemed an eternity, here comes February, and with it, a fresh assortment of PS Plus Essential monthly games that I can’t wait to explore!

Kicking things off, I’m super excited about PAYDAY 3! This cooperative first-person shooter heist game has had its fair share of highs and lows, but getting it as part of PS Plus feels like an attempt to stir up some new enthusiasm. It’s not perfect, but if you can round up a crew of friends who don’t mind slapping on one of those ugly masks, there’s definitely a heap of fun to be found here.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve come across High on Life, another unique first-person shooter experience. This one’s from the creatively quirky Squanch Games, known for their side-splittingly absurd games like Trover Saves the Universe and Accounting+. In this game, you get armed with a motley crew of chattering weapons, which might appeal to fans who enjoy a dash of Rick & Morty-style chaos. If you’re up for some outlandish, humorous adventures, High on Life seems like it could be right up your alley!
Ultimately, we now have Pac-Man World Re-Pac, a revamped version of the 3D platformer from PS1. Taking a trip down memory lane with this throwback is enjoyable, though perhaps predictable, as you collect dots, eat ghosts, and traverse adorable 3D stages. Granted, there are superior platformers on PS5, but if you’re seeking a blast from the past or just some relaxed, effortless gaming sessions, we believe this game will do the trick.
