The first movie of “Attack on Titan” might just be a recap of the final episodes from the anime series, but that doesn’t mean MAPPA didn’t hold something special for the fans. “The Final Attack” is set to hit North American cinemas later this month, although it has already been screened in Japan. The post-credit scene sparked a lot of conversation among anime enthusiasts as it presented an entirely new take on the Scout Regiment. While the film gave us alternate versions of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, a proper look at the “new” Captain Levi has been revealed.
For those unaware, the scene after the credits in “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” is connected to the “Attack on School Castes” spin-off. In this scenario, instead of using their three-dimensional maneuver gear, the main characters concentrate on their high school lives and dramas. Previews for this scene have shown Eren, Armin, and Mikasa seemingly breaking the fourth wall by watching The Last Attack movie in a theater. Although they’ve appeared in various images, it’s only now that we get to see what happens to Levi in this alternate reality.
Levi The Janitor
Despite Captain Levi’s exceptional abilities in battling Titans due to his military background, he was also known for maintaining a clean and well-organized environment, which added a humorous touch to his character in “Attack on Titan”. In the alternate universe of “Attack on School Castes”, Levi has embraced his destiny and taken up the role of a janitor. Now that he is no longer tied to the nation of Marley, he’s found joy in dancing as he performs his cleaning duties. You can see him in action with his new profession below.
Levi’s Bad Boy Status
The creator of “Attack on Titan,” Hajime Isayama, hasn’t explicitly stated his intentions for a sequel, but he has shown interest in revisiting the world of “Attack on Titan” through special manga stories. A recent example is “Attack on Titan: Bad Boy,” which delves into Levi’s backstory and was published as part of the art book, “Attack on Titan: Fly.” In this story, we see a younger, less hardened Levi grappling with dark issues, although he wasn’t yet battling Titans. It remains uncertain if this story will be animated in the near future, but its existence suggests that Isayama is open to revisiting his universe.
Attack on Titan: The Last Attack arrives in theaters on February 10th.
