In the Winter 2025 schedule, Solo Leveling Season 2 made its appearance, continuing the journey of protagonist Jinwoo as he pursues the title of strongest hunter. The second season delves into multiple storylines from the manhwa, starting with the Red Gate Arc. In this arc, Jinwoo and Songyi join forces with White Tiger Guild hunters to explore a dungeon. However, trouble ensues when a C-Rank gate transforms into a red one, trapping the hunters within. Thankfully, Jinwoo possesses the skills necessary to solo his way through the dunion.
We subsequently accompany him as he ventures back to the Demon Castle once more. The events of the Retesting Arc make it evident that he’s already an S-Rank Hunter before his status is officially confirmed. Intrigued by his newfound rank, he elects to become a part of Jongin Choi’s mining team within the Hunters Guild. Notably, Jongin Choi and Haein Cha are also S-Rank Hunters in this guild, which is renowned as the strongest in Korea and handles the riskiest missions.
Up until now, Jinwoo has only been targeting lower-level gates within the mysterious system’s power. Yet, his curiosity about the creatures residing in the higher-ranking gates remains unquenched. As a result, during a break from mining duties, he explores the dungeon and is spotted by Haein.
Warning: Spoilers From the Solo Leveling Manhwa Ahead!
Solo Leveling’s Haein Cha Notices Jinwoo Is Different From Other Hunters
In the series, Haevin stands out as the most powerful female character and surpasses many top-tier Korean Hunter Rank holders. What sets her apart is an uncommon characteristic: she finds the scents of other hunters distasteful due to her highly developed olfactory abilities, which are a result of her exceptional magical sensitivity. However, Jinwoo’s scent intrigues her, as it doesn’t repulse her like others. This piques her curiosity and draws her attention towards him. The primary reason for this unusual reaction is that Jinwoo serves as the vessel for the Shadow Monarch.
In an engaging and straightforward manner:
Jinwoo stands out distinctively, his abilities set apart from other hunters. In Chapter 109 of the manhwa, Norma Selner, a prominent U.S. official with the ability to amplify hunter powers, witnesses his unique capabilities up close. However, she fails to enhance Jinwoo’s abilities. Instead, she acknowledges him as a potent monarch and verifies that he has no limits to his power. In Chapter 115, Selner reveals that all awakened humans derive their powers from the “other side.” When the power is extraordinarily strong, she perceives a dazzling light. She terms such individuals as “Kings.
In Jinwoo’s unique situation, there is no link to the other realm. Upon looking within him, all she saw was darkness returning the gaze. It seems that Jinwoo’s abilities are solely his, or more accurately, they belong to the Shadow Monarch. Haein’s distinction of Jinwoo from other hunters serves as a subtle hint at future events. She is the female protagonist in “Solo Leveling,” and their initial encounter marks a significant turning point for both characters. From that moment on, Haein becomes intrigued by Jinwoo, and over time, their connection develops a romantic undertone. Although the manhwa doesn’t delve deeply into her feelings, the novel offers a more comprehensive exploration of Haein’s character.
