Before its official unveiling, details about a fresh testing ground for the Battlefield series have accidentally surfaced. EA plans to introduce this new feature, dubbed as Battlefield Labs, through a community update shortly, but it appears that information has prematurely leaked via an in-game Battlefield 4 welcome screen.
Reddit user milo301109 captured a screenshot of the popup, posting it to the Battlefield subreddit:
As a gamer, I’ve got an exciting opportunity coming my way! Battlefield Labs is setting up an exclusive testing ground where selected players like me will get to work hand-in-hand with their developers. We’ll be playing the game while offering valuable feedback to create the ultimate Battlefield experience. The action starts in Europe and North America, but they plan to grow this community worldwide in the future, even though spaces are limited right now. So, don’t miss out on this chance – sign up today!
At the moment, scanning the QR code doesn’t lead to a real-time page, but that should change after the official launch announcement which is coming up soon. This preliminary testing phase serves EA DICE in developing the next Battlefield installment, following the less-than-satisfactory release of Battlefield 2042. As per Insider Gaming, today’s unveiling might include no more than 15 seconds of pre-alpha footage from the upcoming game.
