Kanye West Skips Trump’s Inauguration After Refusing to Apologize Again

Kanye West isn’t going to apologize again.

At a Grammys 2025 after-party, the “Runaway” rapper, known for controversial and antisemitic statements in the past, disclosed that he was prevented from attending President Donald Trump’s second inauguration last month because the administration demanded him to apologize again.

In a recent gathering at my afterparty, as shared on the big screen with Justin LaBoy, I expressed my thoughts about the perceived negative connotation surrounding censorship. Earlier, I had intended to attend an inauguration event, but was informed that I needed to issue yet another apology first.

In simpler terms, the rapper was referring to a situation where Trump’s team requested Kanye West to issue a statement denying antisemitism. However, during his explanation of why he wouldn’t do so, Kanye jokingly admitted that he kept confusing “antisemitic” with “antisympathetic.

About a year later, Kanye’s remarks about not attending the January 20 inauguration emerged, following an apology he made to the Jewish community for his antisemitic remarks during the promotional period of his “Vultures” album.

Kanye expressed his heartfelt apologies to the Jewish community for any unintentional upsets stemming from his words or actions, which he posted on Instagram in December 2023 (and later removed). He never meant to cause offense or disrespect, and he profoundly regrets any distress he may have inflicted.

In the recent outburst, Kanye West, who has children North (11), Saint (9), Chicago (6), and Psalm (5) with ex-partner Kim Kardashian, once again expressed remarks that were offensive to the Jewish community. Last year, the musician behind “Famous” lost business partnerships with Balenciaga and Adidas due to inflammatory comments he posted on social media.

Adidas firmly condemns antisemitism and any form of hate speech. In a statement released previously, they expressed that Kanye West’s recent remarks and actions are intolerable, offensive, and potentially harmful, as they go against the company’s principles of diversity, respect for all individuals, and fairness.

In contrast to his actions that prevented him from attending the president’s latest inauguration, Trump has lately expressed affectionate sentiments towards Kanye West, describing him as “complex.

During my conversation with Adin Ross on his Kick stream in August, I shared that he’s truly a kind individual. However, he has the ability to lead others into challenging situations. Despite this complexity, he possesses a genuinely good heart. He may be intricate and multifaceted, but it’s part of what makes him unique.

And while Kanye sat it out, keep reading to see who attended the 2025 Inauguration…
