The excitement of finding Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go has always been a major draw, and the game is planning to make it slightly more feasible to catch three of them during an upcoming event starting February 11th at 10 a.m. local time. This event, known as the Beloved Buddies event, will provide players with a higher probability of encountering Shiny Diglett and Shiny Dunsparce. During this event, these two Pokemon will be spotted in the wild, along with numerous other Pokemon that fit the “Beloved Buddies” theme. This theme revolves around pairs such as Slowpoke and Shellder, Plusle and Minun, Volbeat and Illumise, and Remoraid and Mantine.
As a devoted Pokémon fan, I can’t help but notice that the Shiny version of Diglett isn’t drastically different from the regular one at first glance. Instead, it sports a lighter hue of brown and its signature pink nose is replaced with a vibrant blue one. But when it comes to Dunsparce, the Shiny version definitely catches the eye! Like Diglett, it has a body that’s just a bit lighter than usual, but the standard blue accents have been transformed into striking pink ones. Overall, these changes make quite an appealing difference!
Besides a higher chance of encountering Shiny Diglett and Dunsparce, Pokemon Go will also simplify finding Shiny Skrelp during the game. However, note that Skrelp won’t show up in the wild during the Beloved Buddies event. Instead, players can find it as a one-star Raid boss. Since these Raids are typically manageable for most players to tackle on their own, they are worth investigating throughout the event. The Shiny Skrelp sports a different color scheme from its usual brown and light purple, displaying dark purple and light blue instead. Its evolved form, Dragalge, retains this color pattern but replaces the normal red with some light green atop its head.
In the upcoming one-star Raids, you’ll encounter Skrelp, whereas Dhelmise, a newcomer to Pokemon Go, will be featured in three-star Raids. Originating from the Alola region, Dhelmise is a unique Pokemon that belongs to both Ghost and Grass types. Interestingly, Dhelmise and Skrelp share a bond, as suggested by the Beloved Buddies event in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. However, the specifics of their relationship remain a mystery.
As a dedicated Pokémon Go player, I’m thrilled to share that during the Beloved Buddies event, there are some exciting perks in store! Most notably, I’ll be earning double XP on every catch. Additionally, I’ll net an extra 500 Stardust for capturing special Pokémon like Cutiefly, Diglett, Dunsparce, Fomantis, Shellder, and Slowpoke during this event. Plus, Lure Modules will last a full hour, and these six specific Pokémon will appear more frequently when I activate them. The Beloved Buddies event is set to run until Saturday, February 15th at 8 p.m., local time. Let’s catch ’em all!
