Why Aesha Scott Didn’t Return for Below Deck Down Under Season 3

Aesha Scott has officially set sail on the next chapter in her life.

After the cherished Chief Steward was conspicuously missing from the trailer for Below Deck Down Under‘s third season, Captain Jason Chambers is shedding light on the reason behind the former crew member’s decision not to return to Australia following their stint alongside Captain Sandy Yawn on the latest season of Below Deck Mediterranean.

In a conversation with Daryn Carp from TopMob News, Jason stated that Aesha had a tale to share and needed to wrap something up. He added that Aesha and Sandy have a strong bond and work harmoniously. The crew departed, leaving her to attend to the remaining tasks, which was understandable. She’s always welcome to return, according to him. (Stay tuned for more of our exclusive interview with Jason on TopMob News tonight, Feb. 3, at 11 p.m.)

And Jason only has fond memories of his former employee.

The Australian went on to say, “She’s familiar with the field and the style, no doubt about it. She’s an invaluable asset to me, and our collaboration is seamless.

Has there been any communication between Jason and the New Zealand native who is now engaged to Scott Dobson, following their collaboration on the project for two seasons?

I haven’t had any contact with Asia for some time now,” the 52-year-old explained. “She’s been independent lately, focusing on her own pursuits. Given how busy she’s been, it’s no surprise. I keep tabs on her progress and I must say, her entrepreneurial ventures have been thriving. It’s wonderful to see her succeed. I also heard that she’s getting married soon.

Although they both have packed schedules, Jason pointed out, “It won’t be long before our paths intersect. Currently, we’re heading in completely different directions. We used to eagerly anticipate collaborating with each other and I’m confident that we will reconnect soon, hopefully even before BravoCon. I’m excited about the prospect of seeing her.

Regarding the supervision of Lara Rigby, our new Chief Stew (formerly known as Aesha’s replacement), who has certainly caught everyone’s attention in the season three teaser, Jason pointed out that she is “extremely skilled” and expects a “top-notch performance” from her team members.

Her one flaw? As Jason put it, “She doesn’t know the format of the show.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: Lara exudes an infectious charisma, joy, and vitality that truly sets her apart. Her wealth of experience is undeniable, but when the going gets tough, expect some captivating displays of resilience and spirit.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but anticipate the significant interactions that will unfold primarily between Lara and the reappearing Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph. Our paths crossed quite dramatically in the preview, hinting at some past friction between us.

He observed that there was a hint of tension between them, which seemed appropriate. “They need to develop a working relationship,” he suggested regarding her and Tzarina.

Tonight, on February 3rd, starting at 8 p.m., “Below Deck Down Under” comes back on Bravo! The episodes will also be available for streaming the following day on Peacock.

And keep reading to meet the entire season three crew.
