Nintendo Switch Sells 150.86 Million Units

In its most recent quarterly financial report for the 2025 fiscal year, Nintendo announced that they have surpassed a new all-time sales record for the Nintendo Switch, with a total of 150.86 million units now sold worldwide, representing an additional 4.82 million consoles in Q3.

Over a span of three months, the software sold a total of approximately 53.7 million units. However, for the period ending December 31st, 2024, hardware sales experienced a decrease of 30.6% compared to the previous year, amounting to 9.54 million units. Simultaneously, software sales saw a year-on-year drop of 24.4%, reaching approximately 123.98 million units.

The drop-off can be linked back to the exceptional success of “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” and “Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” which were launched in 2023. Unlike 2024, when Nintendo didn’t see as many major successes, they stated that sales remained consistent for a console that is already eight years old.

Absolutely, we’re on the brink of excitement as the tranquility precedes a storm – the upcoming release of the Nintendo Switch 2. Mark your calendars, it’s slated for this year and a Direct presentation is scheduled for April. For those lucky fans in selected cities, there’ll be an opportunity to get hands-on with the device.
