Dr. Stone Artist Boichi Announces New Western Manga

As fans delight in the ongoing fourth and final season of Dr. Stone, some continue to pine for the manga that ended its run in March 2022, spanning 232 chapters. Boichi’s upcoming Shonen Jump series offers a promising solution to this void. Although he only contributes to the artwork, Boichi is nearly synonymous with Dr. Stone, even the well-received new season of the anime failing to capture the artistry that Boichi brings to the table.

According to the news in Issue #9 of ‘Weekly Shonen Jump’, the story ‘The Marshal King’ revolves around a young man named Jim Godspeed, who is the son of an infamous outlaw and villain called M. Godspeed. For some unexplained reason, the boy kills his father and journeys through the desert with his corpse, leading to a grim and intense narrative. Boichi’s artistic style continues in the same vein as his previous works, featuring powerful action sequences, vivid gunfights, and exquisitely detailed character designs. However, fans should watch out for the debut chapter’s release to gain more insight into the plot and the unusual title of the series.

Boichi isn’t just recognized for his artwork; he has also dabbled in writing before. His latest manga series, “Origin,” ended its run in February 2019 with 10 volumes. However, it’s his 2006 series, “Sun-Ken Rock,” that made him a household name, running for over a decade in Young King magazine and showcasing his strong writing abilities. In summary, there are many reasons to look forward to Boichi’s new manga, “The Marshal King,” especially for fans of his previous works as well as those who follow “Dr. Stone” and are eagerly awaiting its return.
