Spike Chunsoft’s Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, the latest addition to Bandai Namco’s fighting game series, has sold 5 million copies since its release in October 2024. This rapid success has solidified its place as the fastest-selling title in the franchise’s console history, with an astounding 3 million sales achieved within just the first day after it reached its last milestone.
In the vein of following up on the popular “Budokai Tenkaichi” series (known as “Sparking!” in Japan), “Sparking! ZERO” boasts an enormous cast of characters hailing from various segments of the franchise, such as “Dragon Ball Z”, “GT”, “Super”, and the films. The game’s Episode Battles delve into the unique experiences of individual characters, with some like Goku receiving more comprehensive content.
In addition to introducing “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO”, players can now engage in Custom Battles, where they can design and share their own fights online. Following its release, this game has also been updated with downloadable content based on the movie “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero“, featuring characters such as Super Saiyan Gohan (Beast), Orange Piccolo, Cell Max, Gamma 1 and 2, among others.
