Watch Fan Favorite Return to WWE as NXT Makes Major Title Change

In the post-Royal Rumble episode of WWE NXT, some significant appearances took place, led by Charlotte Flair, the queen herself. However, another unexpected appearance stole the spotlight. The NXT Heritage Cup Champion, Lexis King, seized the opportunity to announce substantial alterations in the Heritage Cup format using the microphone. Not long after, his next competitor emerged – none other than the beloved JDC, who has gained fame in TNA but was highly regarded as Fandango in WWE previously.

Amidst the adjustments that King made to the NXT Heritage Cup layout, the moniker “Fandango” flashed on the screen, causing a surge of excitement among the audience as JDC emerged from the ring, making his comeback to WWE after being let go in 2021.

Let’s briefly discuss the significant alterations King has announced regarding the Championship rules, as they significantly impact the tournament format and also involve JDC. King disclosed modifications to the match structure, such as eliminating the multi-round system. This means no more strategizing for corner retreats or needing someone in the corner. Instead, it will be a straight-forward winner-takes-all match, effective from the next defense onward.

Surprisingly enough, I’ll be facing off against JDC next time. When he stepped into the ring, JDC declared, “Permit me to re-acquaint myself. Once upon a time, I used to get quite eccentric in NXT, and that very tune you hear, it carries immense significance for me. Thank you, audience.

King made a jab at JDC’s former WWE character, prompting JDC to respond in kind. “It’s quite sharp-witted of you to say that, considering you look like someone just painted your face this morning,” JDC retorted. “I am JDC, and I represent TNA Wrestling. The System is always on the hunt for more gold to accumulate.

It was then disclosed by JDC that a Title bout had already been scheduled, and it would take place the following week. Essentially, he informed everyone that himself and TNA will be competing for the Heritage Cup title next week.

Next week, I’ll be witnessing an electrifying clash, accompanied by another high-stakes Championship bout. Interestingly enough, this additional encounter between Tony D’Angelo and Ridge Holland will carry a unique twist.

Following a heated backstage altercation, next week will see a steel cage match for the NXT North American Championship contested by none other than Tony D’Angelo. This decision stems from Ridge Holland’s lack of trust in D’Angelo’s associates, who he fears might meddle with the bout if it were held under standard rules.

Stay tuned for this intense showdown, where the cage will serve as a symbol of fairness and an opportunity to witness raw talent and unyielding determination!

What was your take on that part of the show, and do you believe Tyler Breeze might return to NXT too? Feel free to share your thoughts about wrestling with me on Bluesky @knightofoa!
