Stephen Graham’s Boiling Point Not Returning for Season 2

Currently, there are no active plans for a second season of the highly praised kitchen drama series, Boiling Point, which served as a continuation of the same-named movie.

This update emerges even though director Philip Barantini had expressed his desire before, stating he’d “be delighted to create another series” and expressing confidence that “all those involved would, as there’s so much depth left to uncover in that universe.

He described it as something constantly growing and shifting, with new faces arriving and departing, and menus being updated regularly. There’s always room for tweaking the elements, and he’s eager to delve deeper into the characters. However, he doesn’t want to wrap everything up neatly in a package, as that’s not his style, but instead, he’d find it delightful if… things could continue unfolding.

She went on to say: “Clearly, if you’re invited to return, your role and duration will likely expand, and then comes the anxiety and the feeling of being a fraud, often referred to as ‘imposter syndrome,’ which is like, ‘Ah, this could be my third chance, this is where they might discover that we’re merely trying different approaches to see what works.’ Not quite that, but more thought-out than that.

In many instances, there will be a great deal of apprehension, yet I believe that in the very moments you decide to act courageously, something extraordinary unfolds. This pattern has consistently occurred during the creation of Boiling Point, and it has never failed to yield positive results. Without a doubt, even though my legs might tremble, they would not give way.

Although there’s no word yet about another season of Boiling Point, creators Barantini and Graham are collaborating once again on a new Netflix series titled Adolescence, scheduled for release in March.

In each episode of the series, the scenes will be continuous, much like the movie “Boiling Point”, and it will focus on a father whose son is under suspicion for the murder of a classmate.
