Michael B. Jordan Stands By Jonathan Majors Amid Assault Case

Michael B. Jordan is still one of Jonathan Major‘s biggest fans.

The actor publicly showed his backing for his previous “Creed III” co-star’s upcoming acting venture, approximately ten months following Majors’ sentencing to a year of domestic violence therapy in 2023, after being convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment against his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

On the 4th of February, Jordan posted a trailer for his fellow actor’s forthcoming film titled “Magazine Dreams” on his Instagram Stories. He added two clapping emojis and three fire emojis to express enthusiasm. A screenshot of this post was later shared by People magazine. In the movie, which is due for release on March 21st, Danielle Majors portrays an amateur bodybuilder.

I can’t contain my excitement as a die-hard fan! After his legal troubles put a halt on his journey, this is finally the comeback I’ve been eagerly waiting for. It was disheartening to learn that Marvel Studios decided not to proceed with him following his conviction, especially since he played pivotal roles in Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. But now, here we are, on the brink of a new chapter!

Michael B. Jordan is still one of Jonathan Major‘s biggest fans.

Actor from the film “Black Panther” publicly showed his backing for his co-star in “Creed III,” approximately ten months following Majors’ conviction in a domestic violence counseling program for his misdemeanor assault and harassment case.

On the 4th of February, Jordan posted a trailer for Majors’ upcoming movie “Magazine Dreams” on his Instagram Stories. The film is scheduled to release in March. He added two clapping emojis and three fire emojis, as captured in a screenshot shared by People magazine.

This movie features a former “Lovecraft Country” cast member portraying an amateur bodybuilder in his debut significant acting role following his 2023 conviction, an event that halted his career progression and caused him to exit the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On the exact same day that Majors was found guilty in a domestic violence case with his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari, sources reported to TopMob News that Marvel Studios, owned by Disney, would not proceed with Majors, who played Kang the Conqueror in two seasons of Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, in future projects.

In 2022, the movie titled “Magazine Dreams” was planned for release by Disney’s Searchlight Pictures. However, following John Majors’ arrest on charges of domestic violence in October 2023, the project was taken off Searchlight Pictures’ schedule as reported by Variety. Later, Briarcliff Entertainment secured the rights to distribute the film domestically.

Throughout his ongoing legal ordeal, Major found himself accompanied by a newfound love.

In May of 2023, the celebrity known as “Devotion” started dating Meagan Good. This was about two months following his arrest. Throughout his trial and sentencing, she stood by his side. Then, in November, they moved forward to a fresh stage in their relationship.

At the EBONY Power 100 Gala held in Los Angeles that month, Good revealed two plans of engagement to Francesca Amiker from TopMob News, stating, “We’ve decided to keep it private for now, but I was genuinely surprised and delighted when he proposed. My initial reaction was, ‘Is this really happening?’

Majors added, “Don’t do anything by half.”

Last month, Good took a moment to ponder the insights she’s gained during her time with Majors, which she described as an “extraordinary voyage.

In an interview with Ebony, published on January 22nd, the alumnus of Think Like a Man explained that this relationship has shown him about the essence of unconditional love. It’s about understanding what it feels like to be cherished for who you truly are, and loving someone who helps bring out your best qualities.

Look back at Majors and Good’s romance…

Three months following the conclusion of Meagan Good’s divorce with producer DeVon Franklin, she attended the 2022 EBONY Power 100 gala, where she encountered her future fiancé, Jonathan Majors. In an interview two years later with Francesca Amiker from TopMob News, Good revealed that they had met each other in a restroom at the event, specifically in the unisex bathroom. Despite having “instant chemistry,” Good admitted that she wasn’t open to starting a new relationship at the time. However, their paths crossed again about four months later, and Good felt certain that they were meant for each other, which eventually came true.

It wasn’t until May 2023 that news about their relationship surfaced, approximately two months following an arrest of Majors in New York over accusations of harassment and assault related to a domestic incident involving his then-unknown ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. However, he refuted these claims, with his lawyer stating to NBC News in March 2023 that Majors is entirely innocent.

In June 2023, Majors attended a court session, during which an August trial was scheduled. Good stayed by his side and held his hand as they exited the proceedings.

During the court hearing, which was initially set for August 2023 but later moved to November of the same year, the former Cousin Skeeter cast member stood by the actor from Lovecraft Country. Majors denied the charges brought against him.

As reported by the Associated Press, Jabbari was taken into custody in October 2023 for alleged assault and criminal mischief following accusations made by Majors that she attacked him. However, these charges were dropped the day after. Doug Cohen, spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, informed the outlet that they “opted not to pursue this case as it lacks credibility.”

Jabbari’s lawyer, Ross Kramer, shared with the AP that the DA’s office had thoroughly examined all aspects of the case and concluded that Jabbari was actually the victim, not the aggressor. He added that the arrest had been unfortunate and re-traumatizing.

On the other hand, Majors’ attorney, Dustin Pusch, told NBC News that it was unjust for the District Attorney to persist with their case against him.

In December 2023, Majors was convicted on charges of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. However, he was acquitted on another charge of third-degree assault and a charge of aggravated harassment.

As a lifestyle expert looking back on a challenging experience, let me share my sentiments from January 2024: I was utterly astounded and taken aback, much like the Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania cast member who found himself in a similar predicament after the court’s decision. Standing there, as the verdict was read, I couldn’t help but wonder, “How could this be, given the evidence presented by both parties? This just doesn’t seem possible.”

In the same interview with ABC News, the individual in question emphasized that he had never struck a woman, ever.

Brittany Henderson, the defendant’s attorney, responded to these statements by expressing concern about the timing and lack of apparent remorse shown by the individual. In her words to ABC News, “The timing of these new declarations indicates a clear absence of regret for the actions that led to his conviction, making the sentencing decisions straightforward for the court.”

Regarding my relationship with my partner, Good, I consider her an absolute angel for her unwavering support during this difficult time. As I shared with ABC News, “I feel incredibly fortunate to have her in my life. Our bond is still new, but I believe I’ve found someone truly special. I just hope she sticks by my side.

In March 2024, the duo first appeared together on the red carpet at the African American Film Critics Association Special Achievement Awards luncheon in Los Angeles. Later that month, during an interview with TopMob News at the NAACP Awards, Good confirmed Majors as his partner and expressed their love for each other. TopMob News reported that Majors stated, “She supports me, I support her,” about their relationship. However, NBC News reported in March 2024 that Jabbari filed a lawsuit against Majors, accusing him of defamation, malicious prosecution, assault, and battery, claiming he had abused her at various points during their relationship. Jabbari dropped the lawsuit in November 2024 with court documents stating “all claims against Defendant are dismissed with prejudice.

Approximately three months following his trial verdict, Majors received a sentence that included enrollment in a 52-week counseling course, along with a fine of $250. Once more, Good demonstrated her backing for him, walking alongside him towards the courthouse.

At the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, as he received the Perseverance Award, Majors emotionally expressed the profound impact Good has had on him. He stated in a video posted by Chris Gardner of The Hollywood Reporter: “I love you immeasurably, with all my might, with every fiber of my being.” Majors also reminisced about how the star of Harlem supported and uplifted him countless times during difficult nights.

In response to your question,

“Goodness has echoed love in return,” she expressed during a July 2024 episode of Today. She explained that their mutual support, open dialogue, respect, and care for each other have been truly wonderful. Despite advice from friends to wait until Majors’ court case was resolved before starting a relationship, the Shazam! actress decided to listen to her heart instead.

She shared that there are moments when she can confidently look at herself in the mirror, knowing she’s making decisions guided by her spirit, faith, and personal convictions, and that she’s proud of her path. Regardless of what life brings, she maintains a sense of inner tranquility and harmony. Although she values the opinions of her loved ones, ultimately it’s her responsibility to live her life and one day answer for her actions before God. She wants to make conscious choices and live the life she desires.

After two years since their initial encounter, Good announced her engagement to Majors by showcasing her ring at the 2024 Ebony Power 100 ball.
