Prepare for the anticipated third season of “Invincible,” debuting on Amazon Video tomorrow, February 6th! After the harrowing incidents of the previous season, Mark Grayson is gearing up, bracing for threats approaching Earth from outer space, alternate dimensions, and even U.S. authorities. Though we’ve seen plenty of teasers to give fans a glimpse of what’s next, there are some intriguing characters yet to emerge from the shadows. As for villains, one in particular is expected to make an explosive entrance.
Heed this advice if you wish to avoid spoilers for Invincible Season 3: We’re going to delve into some events from the source material today, focusing on a formidable villain named Conquest. This Viltrumite soldier is a relentless warrior, as tough as they come. At a particularly challenging moment in Mark’s life, Conquest makes his appearance. After Nolan was taken by the Viltrumites, they promised to return to Earth to check if Mark could enslave humanity. Since Invincible has no intention of subjecting mankind to Viltrumite rule, there’s a significant disagreement between him and Conquest, leading to a fight so brutal and bloody that it overshadows all other battles we’ve witnessed thus far.
What Makes Conquest So Big?
In the animated series of Mark’s adventures, there’s no other antagonist quite like Conquest. Foes such as Angstrom Levy, the Mauler Twins, and even his own father pale in comparison to this older Viltrumite who thirsts for battle above all else. Conquest is a formidable force of nature, not hesitating to slice through anyone who dares to stand against him.
In the “Invincible” animated series thus far, nothing has been held back. A memorable example is the train sequence from the finale of the first season, which was significant enough to be incorporated into a “Mortal Kombat” game. When “Conquest,” the Amazon Video show, premieres, it will need to give its all and merit its mature rating. Fans of Invincible should brace for season three, as not every character may survive.
Who Will Play Conquest?
The character Conquest hasn’t been assigned officially so far, but with two new actors joining the cast of Invincible, Jonathan Banks from “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” and Doug Bradley known for his role as Pinhead in the “Hellraiser” series, there’s a strong possibility that they might be up for the part. Among the two, Jonathan Banks appears to be a more likely choice given his history of playing tough characters. Regardless of who gets the role, they’ll have some challenging work ahead.
