I’m eagerly anticipating the official debut of the anime adaptation for “Witch Watch,” one of the highly-awaited series from Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, slated for later this year. Recently, the voice cast for the show has been growing with some exciting new additions before its premiere. With “Witch Watch” being a significant franchise ushering in the new releases for the Spring 2025 anime lineup, it’s poised to leave a lasting impact thanks to its impressive ensemble of vocal talents. Given the series’ abundance of peculiar and quirky characters, there’s plenty to keep an eye on as we approach its release date.
Later this Spring, Witch Watch is set to debut, and fresh news from the anime has disclosed some additional voices to enrich the cast. As anticipated, these new faces bring a host of eccentric characters that are typical of Nico and Morihito’s school. The latest additions include Miyuki Sawashiro voicing Ibara Ibu, Jun Fukuyama as Yuzuru Kenmochi, Rie Kugimiya as Syrup, Misaki Kuno as Kuromitsu, Noriko Hidaka as Riro Takumi, Kenta Miyake as Burst, Jun Fukushima as Kyoki Saiko, and Hikaru Midorikawa as Daiki Sakai Mk.II. Take a look at the new character designs below for a sneak peek.
What Is Witch Watch?
First conceived by Kenta Shinohara for the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2021, the series known as Witch Watch introduces readers to Morihito Otogi, an ogre tasked with protecting his childhood friend Nico Wakatsuki, who is growing into a full witch. Each week brings new doses of zany antics. The upcoming anime aims to bring all this humor to life, set to run for two consecutive cours during its inaugural season. Hiroshi Ikehata will direct the new anime alongside Masao Kawase at Bibury Animation Studio. Deko Akao is responsible for writing the scripts, Haruko Iizuka handles character designs, Mutsumi Takemiya edits the anime, and Yukari Hashimoto composes the music.
I’m absolutely thrilled to share that some fantastic newcomers are joining the already stellar cast of “Rina Kawaguchi as Nico Wakatsuki,” “Ryota Suzuki as Morihito Otogi,” “Kohei Amasazki as Kanshi Kazamatsuri,” “Kaito Ishikawa as Keigo Magami,” “Tomori Kusunogi as Nemu Miyao,” “Mikako Komatsu as Yuri Makuwa,” “Konomi Kohara as Kukumi Ureshino,” “Rie Takahashi as Kara Minami,” and “Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Tenryu Kiyomiya” in this exciting project! Can’t wait to see the magic these new talents bring to the table!
