Following a successful four-day crowdfunding campaign, The Farm 51’s “Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone” is set to debut on March 6th, exclusively on Steam Early Access for PC. As of now, the specific cost and extent of content haven’t been specified.
The narrative revolves around ex-soldier Cole Grey, who lives in a world dependent on a rare resource called Chernobylite. With supplies dwindling, he signs up for the Planewalker project to explore alternate dimensions for their Chernobylite reserves (absorbing it into his body). Unexpectedly, he’s transported to the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, where he crosses paths with the villain from the previous game, the Black Stalker.
In “Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone,” you’ll find a third-person gaming option in addition to the original’s first-person view. It retains the first game’s firearms and weapon customization, offers new locations for both cooperative and solo play, and even introduces an “endless” mode after the main storyline has concluded.
A few of these targets are considered stretch goals, meaning the number of available features during early access is still uncertain. Additionally, it’s unclear whether the projected launch date in October 2025 might change due to potential input from users. In the meantime, keep an eye out for future updates.
