Netflix hikes UK prices again with subscription costs increasing

For the top-tier option, “Premium,” there’s been an increase in its price by one pound, bringing it to £18.99 per month. Additionally, the associated advertising plan has risen by a pound as well, now priced at £5.99 monthly.

In order to keep enhancing our streaming service with better programming and added value for our subscribers, there may be times when we request a slight increase in your subscription fee. This will enable us to reinvest these funds back into the platform, ultimately improving Netflix even further.

In October 2023, prices went up for UK customers, as a result of the streaming service choosing to take action against unauthorized account sharing.

During that period, only the Basic plan subscribers saw a change in their pricing. The Basic plan, now defunct, increased from £6.99 to £7.99 per month. Meanwhile, the Premium plan rose from £15.99 to £17.99 monthly. Users on the ad and Standard plans remained unaffected by these changes.

Last year, there were numerous engaging options for Netflix viewers, as shows such as Fool Me Once, The Gentlemen, One Day, Baby Reindeer, and Black Doves were all warmly appreciated by the public.

In 2025, I eagerly anticipate a continuation of my favorite shows, as The Night Agent returns for its second season, and we’re treated to premieres of Missing You, Apple Cider Vinegar, and more! The thrilling final seasons of Stranger Things and Squid Game are on the horizon, and I can hardly wait for fresh episodes of Black Mirror, Wednesday, and Emily in Paris.
