Amidst all the upheaval at Warner Bros. Discovery, there’s been a puzzling silence regarding Monolith Productions’ ‘Wonder Woman‘ game, especially given the setbacks faced by other projects such as Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and MultiVersus. Since its unveiling at The Game Awards 2021, official updates on this project have been scarce, with Warner Bros. only confirming that it won’t include live service features.
According to a recent report by Bloomberg, a major project of the company, considered as one of its significant investments, has faced challenges and failed to come together effectively. The project was restarted at the beginning of last year, saw a change in leadership, and reportedly exceeded a budget of $100 million. What seems particularly concerning is that it’s said to be several years away from release, if it even reaches the market.
We’ve encountered problems with development before, as Greg Miller from Kinda Funny mentioned back in June that the game appeared to be facing difficulties, albeit without providing much additional information. Since then, leaks have surfaced giving us a glimpse into aspects such as combat, storyline, and characters, but it’s unclear how pertinent these details would be if the project undergoes a reboot.
The development of Wonder Woman is ongoing for the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. Take a look at this possible leaked concept art from 2023 by clicking here.
