Lady Gaga’s ‘Edge of Glory’ Hair Revival: Back to Her Iconic Roots

Lady Gaga is feeling blue—in an iconic way.

Throughout her career, the “Disease” star has dabbled with various hair colors, but for many years, she was known for her iconic blonde shade. However, she’s just unveiled a new look that harks back to her 2011 Born This Way period.

On February 6th, Gaga was seen autographing some vinyl copies of her upcoming “Mayhem” album in an Instagram video. The single “Abracadabra” could be heard playing in the background. Although her black blazer outfit was striking, it was her vibrant turquoise bob hairstyle that truly stole the limelight.

Lady Gaga’s current hairstyle appears to draw inspiration from her appearance in “Edge of Glory” (2011), where she sported a sharp, black-and-white blunt bob with bangs. Her latest style incorporates some loose curls, but the essence of Mother Monster remains intact. Interestingly, Gaga also sported a similar hairstyle, this time in a bold red and black, during the September premiere of “Joker: Folie à Deux” in London, where she played Harley Quinn.

This revamped style, while reminiscent, offers a glimpse into the visual theme of her upcoming album. Lady Gaga launched her “Mayhem” period with her October single “Disease,” where she alternated between long black hair and a sleeked-back hairstyle with a touch of gray in the music video.

For several months following, she maintained her consistent black ensemble, as seen at the Grammys. At that event, she opted for a new hairstyle – a hime cut, replacing her previous middle part.

As an ardent fan, I must confess that her appearance for the night wasn’t her grand finale. During the captivating performance, Gaga unveiled the music video for her second single “Abracadabra” from the album. What caught my breath was her hair transformation, which reached yet another iconic height. In this mesmerizing nearly five-minute visual spectacle, she reverted to her signature blonde style, but with a twist. Rather than maintaining her hair straight throughout, she skillfully incorporated a neatly tucked braid to create a half up half down look that was simply breathtaking.
