The warrants were issued by the Southern District of New York, and a representative from HSI New York has corroborated that they executed these actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI teams in Los Angeles, Miami, and local law enforcement partners.

When the searches were conducted, I was reportedly in the Miami area according to sources within law enforcement who spoke to NBC News.

The investigation was revealed following accusations of sexual misconduct against Combs, which started with lawsuits filed by several accusers in November. He refuted the allegations, stating in a December Instagram post: “I am being accused of despicable acts by people seeking a fast payday. Let it be clear that I have not committed any of these heinous actions. I will vigorously defend my reputation, my family, and the truth.

On the day following the execution of search warrants at Sean Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami, his attorney Aaron Dyer issued a statement to TopMob News. “Yesterday, there was an excessive display of force, bordering on military-style tactics, during the search warrant executions at Mr. Combs’ residences,” said Dyer in his March 26 statement. “There is no justification for the aggressive and hostile behavior exhibited by the authorities towards his children and employees.”

According to various law enforcement officials who have knowledge of the situation, it was reported by NBC News that during the searches, authorities from the Department of Homeland Security confiscated phones from Diddy’s Miami residence prior to his planned trip to the Bahamas. Additionally, several sources with inside knowledge of the case stated that firearms were found during these searches.

A source acquainted with the situation shared with NBC News that four individuals – three women and one man – were questioned by officials from the Southern District of New York regarding accusations involving sex trafficking, sexual misconduct, illicit drug dealing, and gun offenses, which are said to be linked to Combs.

On the same day that search warrants were carried out at Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles, one of his associates, Brendan Paul, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade police on charges of drug possession. A source familiar with the case confirmed this to NBC News. According to the arrest affidavit obtained by the news outlet, Paul was detained for suspected cocaine and marijuana candy in his possession. Prison records show that he was released on a bond on March 26. Brian Bieber, Paul’s attorney, stated that they will not be trying this case in public, and all matters will be addressed in court. In May, Paul agreed to a plea deal, with his lawyer telling People magazine that “Brendan agreed to the prosecutor’s offer to allow him entry into the diversion program, after which the entire case against him will be dismissed.

On September 16, 2024, as reported by NBC News, an arrest occurred in the lobby of a New York hotel; this individual is identified as Combs. The specific charges against him have yet to be disclosed, and it remains undetermined if this arrest is linked to any recent raids.

His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment over the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s decision to pursue a prosecution against Mr. Combs that they feel is unfair. In their view, Mr. Combs is not a criminal, despite his imperfections. Notably, Mr. Combs has been fully cooperative with this investigation and even moved to New York voluntarily last week in preparation for these charges.

Following Combs’ arrest on a sealed indictment, the charges were made public on September 17.
