Angelina Jolie's Jaw-Dropping Critics Choice Look

Not every award show can be a duet.

At the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, Angelina Jolie graced the red carpet alone, ending a trend where her 19-year-old daughter Zahara had typically accompanied her during this season’s events.

At the February 7th event held at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar, Angelina Jolie made a striking statement with her bold red lips, a change from the subtle makeup tones she typically prefers.

The remaining part of Maria’s appearance, featuring an elegant bisque-hued gown designed by Elie Saab, exuded a soft yet captivating charm. (Check out all the fashion from the 2025 Critics Choice Awards.)

The event held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, which was organized by Chelsea Handler yet again, had to be postponed by a month because of the LA wildfires, resulting in a more subdued red carpet atmosphere.

At the 2025 Golden Globes, Zahara was seen alongside Jolie, who finalized her divorce from former spouse Brad Pitt in December following a challenging eight-year dispute. The actress found herself reminiscing about her journey, highlighting the significant transformation in her life over the past 25 years since she won her Golden Globe for ‘Girl Interrupted’ in 2000. Following this victory, she went on to collect all the accolades, including an Oscar. (In other words, she won every award there was after that win.)

She clarified to Zuri Hall of Live from TopMob: Golden Globes that she was present with her daughter, meaning she was there in a motherly role. “It’s a different experience,” she added while on the red carpet.

During some events with red carpets this season, Zahara went along with her mother. In contrast, Angelina’s elder son, Knox (aged 16), had an uncommon outing with his mom at the Governor’s Awards held in Los Angeles in November.

However, despite being born into the limelight as part of the Eternals cast, she clarified that her six children are not seeking a life under the public scrutiny.

She shared with TopMob News in October that these individuals are notably reserved and prefer privacy. This includes Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (18), Shiloh (18), and the twins Knox (16) and Vivienne (16). They all value their privacy.

Nevertheless, they’ve trailed in her footsteps backstage. Not only did Vivienne serve as her assistant during the creation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical “The Outsiders”, but Maddox and Pax also assumed production responsibilities for “Maria”.

Angelina shared with The Hollywood Reporter in August that Mad and Pax were often assisting in directing tasks. She mentioned they’ve collaborated on several projects before, which she believes benefits them.
