One of the night’s biggest surprises at the Royal Rumble was the unexpected return of Alexa Bliss to the ring and WWE TV. Her entrance into the Rumble match received a massive response from the crowd, and she quickly made her presence felt. Many speculated that she would be joining Monday Night Raw due to previous rumors, but tonight WWE announced that SmackDown is where she’ll be making her home instead – the blue brand.
It became clear when WWE disclosed some qualifying matches for the Elimination Chamber exclusively on SmackDown, among them was a match between Bliss and Candice LeRae. Granted, it could have been a single event, but as the show progressed, WWE highlighted Bliss’s impending return during the Rumble, hinting at her continued presence on SmackDown.
1) It’s been noted in discussions that the transfer period is now over, which means while unexpected changes might occur, Bliss will probably remain in her current place for some time. Besides Bliss, it was also confirmed that Drew McIntyre would join SmackDown as a permanent Superstar. Additionally, McIntyre has an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match scheduled later tonight, where he’ll battle against LA Knight and Jimmy Uso to secure a spot in the competition.
2) The transfer window being shut down was pointed out during commentary, suggesting Bliss won’t be moving soon, but surprises could still pop up. Not only that, Drew McIntyre has officially become a SmackDown Superstar. Tonight, he’s got an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match lined up against LA Knight and Jimmy Uso to secure his spot in the contest.
3) Commentators have noted the transfer window is closed, indicating Bliss isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, but there could still be twists. Alongside Bliss, Drew McIntyre has been confirmed as a SmackDown Superstar from now on. In tonight’s event, he’ll face off against LA Knight and Jimmy Uso in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match to secure his place in the competition.
4) As the transfer window is sealed, it’s likely that Bliss will stay put for a while, although unforeseen events could happen. On the other hand, Drew McIntyre has been confirmed as a permanent member of SmackDown. Furthermore, he’ll participate in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match later tonight against LA Knight and Jimmy Uso to earn his place in the upcoming event.
5) The transfer window being closed implies that Bliss will likely stay put for some time, though there could be exceptions. Similarly, Drew McIntyre has been announced as a SmackDown Superstar moving forward. Tonight, he’ll battle against LA Knight and Jimmy Uso in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match to secure his spot in the competition.
Previously in the evening, General Manager Nick Aldis was spotted in his office with two newly signed SmackDown talents, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. He warmly welcomed them into the SmackDown roster. However, their conversation was disrupted by Carmelo Hayes. In an uncouth manner, he had to confront a Raw competitor, Tozawa, who he had assaulted prior to the ring during the Rumble match.
With the Transfer Window now shut, SmackDown has undergone an invigorating transformation, welcoming fresh faces into its roster. The newcomers to SmackDown include Alexa Bliss, Drew McIntyre, Gail Kim, Otis Dozovic, Damian Priest, R-Truth, The Miz, Zelina Vega, and the enigmatic Wyatt Family. This influx of talent will undoubtedly enhance the show as it tackles its extended 3-hour slot for the early part of the year, leaving open the exciting prospect that a few more NXT talents might join before WrestleMania.
Following WrestleMania is expected to be the time when WWE conducts its next Roster Shuffle, which means significant changes could occur across both rosters. Additionally, it’s common to see several NXT call-ups during these shuffles, so those factors will play a role as well.
Regarding Bliss, there’s speculation that she might team up with the Wyatt Family (now known as the Wyatt Sicks) in some capacity once they make their SmackDown debut. However, it’s uncertain at this point what WWE has planned for them, and whether or not they will collaborate with Bliss when they eventually appear on the show.
