You know, the day when I’ve been counting down the hours all week to dive into some intense matches of Marvel Rivals or Fortnite. These types of hiccups usually last anywhere from half an hour to an hour, but this one has been ongoing since 7:00 PM ET, with initial reports flooding in around that time. One user postulates, “Since the website isn’t getting updated, could this be another cyber attack occurring? It seems unusual to perform an update without any prior notice.
If you’re not already familiar with it, the user is referencing one of the largest data breaches ever – the 2011 PlayStation Network Outage that lasted an astonishing 23 days due to a cyber attack. Although it’s just speculation at this point, given the slow response from Sony and the fact that the outage has continued for hours, we might be facing another cyber attack. Fingers crossed that this one won’t last as long, considering all the upcoming online games like Monster Hunter Wilds, which are due to be released in the near future.
