Netflix’s Nobody Wants This Season 2 Begins Filming Next Month

According to one of its stars, it’s expected that production for the second season of Netflix’s popular comedy-drama “Nobody Wants” will begin shortly.

Last year, the show “The Breakout” debuted, delving into an unconventional love story between podcast host Joanne (played by Kristen Bell) and rabbi Noah (Adam Brody). This narrative is loosely based on the life of its creator, Erin Foster.

The program garnered substantial audience attention and received nominations for both the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards. Notably, Netflix decided to commission a second season as early as October, only two weeks following the initial episode’s premiere.

Jackie Tohn, a cast member on Nobody Wants This, shared during an interview with Deadline at the Critics’ Choice Awards that filming for season 2 is set to begin as early as next month.

She mentioned that we begin on March 3rd. That seems to be approaching quickly. Thus, it has felt quite hectic. It’s as if we didn’t stop after season 1, because immediately afterwards we started with promotional activities.

After finding ourselves unexpectedly amidst the whirlwind of award season, it was astonishing to be part of such discussions. Now, we’re diving headfirst into Season 2, and it’s a thrilling ride! The momentum is incredible.

In the movie “Nobody Wants This,” Tohn portrayed Esther, Noah’s sister-in-law. At first, she was not enthused about Noah’s choice to date Joanne, and her greeting towards his family was quite cold and frosty.

As a movie reviewer, allow me to share some insights on what lies ahead for Esther in the upcoming season, based on recent discussions with the show’s creative team: “Having dived into the writers’ room, I can confidently say that my character’s journey is shaping up to be something truly exhilarating. Though I haven’t seen the scripts yet, I am genuinely thrilled about where they plan to take Esther. She’s a character close to my heart, and I’m eager for you all to witness her development. So, keep your eyes peeled; we promise an enthralling season!

In the forthcoming episodes, the roles of showrunners will be taken over by Erin Foster and Craig DiGregorio’s replacements – Jenni Konner (known for Girls) and Bruce Eric Kaplan (known for No Good Deed).

In this show, you’ll find Justine Lupe from Succession portraying Joanne’s sister, Morgan, and Timothy Simons from Veep taking on the role of Noah’s brother, Sasha. Additionally, fans of The Good Place will be excited to see D’Arcy Carden appearing alongside Bell in a guest role.
