PSN Crash Leaves PlayStation Plus Completely Unusable!

PlayStation Network (PSN) has experienced a significant disruption lasting almost 15 hours since late evening on February 7th, due to a global crash. At this point, it’s uncertain when the PSN servers will be back up and running. This outage is among the longest in PSN history, being both lengthy and unprecedented for several years. It’s apparent that there’s a significant issue with PSN, but Sony has yet to provide specific details or offer any further comment beyond confirming the incident late last night.

Currently, PlayStation Network (PSN) is experiencing issues system-wide. Regrettably, this affects PS4 and PS5 users who depend on PlayStation Plus for gameplay, effectively turning their consoles into pricey plastic devices with limited functionality.

If the PlayStation Network (PSN) is offline, then PlayStation Plus (PS+) also experiences downtime. For those with an essential subscription to PS+, this isn’t significantly different from regular days, except that they cannot participate in online gaming or access the free games offered for February, which includes a highly popular release from 2022.

For those with PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium subscriptions, it’s quite significant when PlayStation Network (PSN) goes down, as they cannot access their extensive game libraries until PSN comes back online.

If you’re among those who didn’t catch the news, my gaming world was turned upside down on February 7, 2025, at 7 p.m. ET. This wasn’t just a local outage for PlayStation Network (PSN) in the US; it was a global crash that left PSN users across the planet reeling. Every corner of the service was affected – not just parts here and there as we sometimes see. And unfortunately, this time it’s been the whole shebang. But fear not, PlayStation is hard at work on a solution, and signs are emerging that PSN might be getting back online soon. However, it may still take some time before services like PlayStation Plus return to their usual smooth operation.

Currently, it’s unclear if Sony plans to offer refunds to PlayStation Plus subscribers experiencing issues with their subscriptions.
