The third season of the show “Invincible” has begun, and surprisingly, one of its early episodes paid homage to the character Saitama from “One-Punch Man.” In the universe of “Invincible,” there are numerous superheroes, although the series primarily revolves around Mark Grayson’s challenges. It has been hinted several times that there are many other superheroes in existence, each with their distinctive powers. However, as keen-eyed viewers have pointed out, not all of these heroes are as original as they seem.
In a surprising turn of events, the first three episodes of Season 3 for the show titled “Invincible” premiered this week on Prime Video. These episodes mark a more intense and challenging phase in Mark’s career as a hero. The initial conflict catches him off guard when Doc Seismic transitions from a quickly defeated joke to an ally of monstrous forces lurking beneath the Earth, aiming to capture all Earth’s heroes. This sets off a larger battle involving other familiar faces such as one resembling Saitama, who dispatches his foes with two punches instead of one. Don’t miss out on this action-packed adventure, as pointed out by @daily1punch on X.

Who Is Two Punch Man?
From my vantage point, the opening episode of Season 3 for Mark unveils a fresh chapter filled with intrigue. It’s disclosed that Doc Seismic has been covertly maneuvering the Earth’s foundation from his prison cell. His ultimate objective? To ally with the monsters lurking beneath the surface, aiming to ensnare all Earth’s heroes and extinguish them in the depths below. Swiftly, Invincible and Atom Eve make their entrance to lend a hand. Amidst the ensuing pandemonium, each hero is liberated, enabling them to counterattack against the horde of monsters.
In the world of One-Punch Man, a character resembling Saitama but sporting a yellow cape and red suit (a reversed version of Saitama’s own attire) is depicted flying and vanquishing a magma monster with only two punches. Remarkably, this secondary character was once humorously nicknamed “Two-Punch Man” by the series creator, Robert Kirkman, years ago as a playful nod. However, it’s simply an entertaining Easter Egg for fans who might have caught the swift movements of this overlooked hero.
What’s Next for One-Punch Man?
From my vantage point, here’s an update on your favorite animated series: The third season of “Invincible” is all set to unfold a fresh episode every Thursday, exclusively on Prime Video, until towards the end of March according to the pre-release schedule. In contrast, while “One-Punch Man” also plans to debut its Season 3 this year, they haven’t locked down a specific release date for their new season as of now.
This year, we’ll be marking the 10th anniversary of One-Punch Man by launching its third season. The same team responsible for Season 2 will be back for more, with J.C. Staff once again handling the animation production. Chikashi Kubota, Shinjiro Kuroda, and Ryosuke Shirakawa will work together on character designs, Tomohiro Suzuki will take charge of script composition, and Makoto Miyazaki will compose the music for the new season.
