As a hardcore gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the next chapter in the Hogwarts saga, the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy, is brewing on the horizon! With over 30 million copies of Hogwarts Legacy already sold, it’s no surprise that a second installment from WB Games was inevitable. Interestingly, though, instead of diving headfirst into Hogwarts Legacy 2 development right now, it appears that additional content for the original game is on its way soon.
According to a recent report from Bloomberg, there’s talk about creating additional content for “Hogwarts Legacy.” Specific details about what this downloadable expansion will entail aren’t yet known, but it seems Avalanche Studios is working on both this DLC and “Hogwarts Legacy 2” concurrently. This suggests that the DLC may function as a kind of conclusion to the original game while setting up the narrative for the sequel.
Although the upcoming DLC for Hogwarts Legacy isn’t entirely unexpected, what sets it apart is its late release, coming two years after the game’s initial launch in 2023. Since then, additional content and mod support have been added, with the latter recently becoming available on PC. However, many players seem to have shifted their focus from Hogwarts Legacy, and there might not be as much excitement for the DLC now as there was before. Consequently, if the DLC does eventually arrive in the coming months, it may no longer generate significant interest.
If the report we’re considering is correct and there truly is DLC for Hogwarts Legacy, it might be announced quite soon. In the past, WB Games has collaborated extensively with PlayStation for the promotion of Hogwarts Legacy. Now, it seems that PlayStation may be planning its first State of Play event in 2025, which could occur in February. If this event takes place as expected, there’s a strong possibility that we might catch a glimpse of Hogwarts Legacy during the presentation.
