In the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, law-breaking is given significant consequence – so much so, that excessive misconduct could potentially lead to the unfortunate demise of our protagonist, Henry.
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it’s challenging for the main character Henry to evade punishment for his actions. The severity of his consequences can vary significantly based on the nature of his misdeeds. He might end up in the stocks or suffer a tarnished reputation, but if things go really wrong, he could be labeled a criminal. The most extreme consequence is execution by hanging, which results in a deeply moving scene where Henry appears as distraught as you’d expect.
As a devoted fan, I came across an impactful scene tweeted by @NikTekOfficial. It starts with Henry, seemingly distraught in a cell, then guided through a crowd that’s jubilant over his impending punishment. His face is filled with fear as the executioner readies him, and when he takes one final glance at the sky, birds passing overhead, it’s heartbreaking to see. Truth be told, he wasn’t the one who willfully chose the crimes he was forced to commit in the game. The scene ends tragically with a blackout, revealing a game over screen that reads: “You have been executed for your crimes.
In the game, many players are likely to steer clear of this particular scene – according to GamesRadar+’s Andrew Brown, Henry’s existence became challenging after being penalized severely for purloining a lute. Considering the circumstances, his punishment seems lenient. However, kudos to the developers for incorporating such intricate details, even though it may not be about guiding Henry through a career in thievery.
