Christy Carlson Romano Reveals Shocking Injury After Clay Pigeon Accident!

Christy Carlson Romano is in recovery mode.

A former cast member of ‘Even Stevens’ posted a picture of her injured eye, explaining that she sustained the injury while shooting clay pigeons on a trip with her husband, Brendan Rooney.

In the latest photo, Christy is seen giving a peace sign from within a vehicle, while wearing a pink beanie and sunglasses. Beneath her hat and eyewear, she’s noticeably sporting a bandage on her right eye, which has a reddish tint around its pupil.

She captioned the selfie, posted to her Instagram Story on Super Bowl Sunday Feb. 9, “Go team!”

Christy previously shared details about the terrifying ordeal, which landed her in the hospital.

On February 8, she posted on Instagram about taking him clay pigeon shooting as a gift, along with a video showing her eye and forehead injuries. Unfortunately, there was another group present who carelessly discharged their firearm in an unsafe direction, hitting her in the face.

Swiftly, she verified that Brendan had taken immediate steps, examining her wounds prior to hurrying her to the hospital.

In five different spots, I was struck, with one narrowly missing my right eye by barely an inch! Regrettably, a shard ended up lodged behind that very same eye, making it unsafe for immediate surgical removal. For now, doctors will keep a close watch on me – thankfully, I can see fine at the moment.

Apart from expressing appreciation towards the medical team involved in her care, the former Kim Possible actress, a mom of two girls – Isabella Victoria (8 years old) and Sophia Elizabeth (5 years old) – also voiced her relief that the incident didn’t lead to more severe injuries.

Given all that transpired, it’s only made me more aware of how fortunate I am to still be here,” she reflected. “I adore my daughters, husband, family, and friends immensely. It felt as if I was reliving my life in a blink of an eye, and let me tell you, seize every opportunity to embrace the people close to you.

As the Disney star put it, “Life can change in an instant.”

He expressed that you’re incredibly courageous, strong, resilient, and remarkable – words that truly encapsulate you. He’s deeply grateful for your presence in his life and as the mother of their children. He admits he wouldn’t know how to navigate without you. His love for you surpasses everything, even life itself.

In a lighter tone, the 42-year-old posted an update on social media, accompanied by an image of Christy giving him the middle finger from a hospital bed. His caption read, “My wife gets shot, I request to take a photo for posterity, she gives me the bird and smiles (she was very close to losing her eye, indeed).

He added in the Feb. 9 post, “When they say there’s no such thing as, ‘The One’ they lie…”

In February 2025, the former star of Even Stevens disclosed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a clay pigeon shooting excursion, which was arranged as part of her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday celebrations.

In her Instagram post, she stated that there was another group present who accidentally fired their weapon towards us, striking me in the face. Instantly, @thebrendanrooney stepped forward, assessed my injuries, and hurriedly took me to the hospital. I was wounded in five spots, with one bullet being barely an inch away from hitting my right eye directly.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d put it like this: “Regrettably, during a recent adventure, I encountered an unwelcome souvenir – a fragment lodged behind my eye. At present, it’s not safe to surgically remove it. However, I’m fortunate enough to see clearly for now, and the medical team is closely monitoring me.

She expressed her gratitude for being alive, stating that she deeply cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends. Recounting a close call where she felt her life flash before her eyes, she emphasized the importance of embracing loved ones whenever possible, as life’s unexpected twists can occur in the blink of an eye.

Despite the internet often being unkind, Amy Schumer is grateful it provided her with answers during this specific situation. She humorously mentioned in an episode of Call Her Daddy from January 2025 that after a series of interviews, she felt the need to say “OK everybody, relax” due to her slightly puffy face. However, doctors began commenting, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome based on her unusually swollen appearance. Initially taken aback by being trolled by medical professionals, Amy eventually realized that these comments could be pointing towards a health issue.

Upon discovering that the doctors believed her condition could be caused by steroid injections in her scars, she remembered receiving such treatments following procedures like her breast reduction and C-section. As it turned out, the steroids had led to Amy developing Cushing syndrome, an ailment she may not have discovered if the internet hadn’t been so critical of her appearance.

Now, with the knowledge that the type of Cushing she has will resolve itself naturally, Amy is relieved and expressed her gratitude in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter. “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will work itself out and I’m healthy was the best possible news,” she wrote.

Hailey Bieber had a terrifying incident in March 2022 during breakfast with husband Justin Bieber. She began experiencing symptoms similar to a stroke, such as facial drooping and difficulty speaking. Although the symptoms subsided quickly, she was taken to the hospital for a checkup.

In the hospital, doctors discovered a small blood clot in her brain, which they classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further examination at UCLA revealed that Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO), through which the blood clot had traveled and reached her brain.

Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and is now feeling well. Justin asked her if she was alright, to which she initially couldn’t respond due to her symptoms. She shared this experience on YouTube a month later.

In the same year when Hailey had her health issue, Justin also encountered one. Specifically, in June 2022, Justin Bieber revealed his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that temporarily paralyzed parts of his face and led to the cancellation of the rest of his Justice World Tour. In an Instagram video, he explained that this virus attacked nerves in his ear and facial area, causing facial paralysis. As viewers could see, one eye wasn’t blinking, he couldn’t smile on one side of his face, and that nostril wouldn’t move, indicating full paralysis on one side. He mentioned to his fans that it had become increasingly difficult for him to eat. However, the paralysis eventually subsided. Hailey commented on a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America, stating that Justin was doing well and feeling much better after the ordeal. She expressed relief that he was fine.

Initially, Jamie Foxx kept quiet about his hospitalization in April 2023, but later shared his experience. In Atlanta one day, he experienced a severe headache and asked for an aspirin, but lost consciousness before getting it. He regained consciousness twenty days later, having been sent home initially with a cortisone shot. His sister Deidra Dixon then took him to the hospital where they discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke. After undergoing surgery on the 20th day, Foxx woke up in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He subsequently went to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. “I am grateful for every prayer,” he said, “because I needed every one of them.

In 2019, Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in The New Yorker. Describing a terrible headache at the gym, she recounted, “I collapsed at the toilet and was violently ill. The pain was escalating – sharp, piercing, crushing pain. I knew something was wrong with my brain.”

She was rushed to the hospital for a scan, where they discovered she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a severe type of stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. She underwent immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, describing the pain as unbearable. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia and spoke incoherently.

A week later, the aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a 2013 brain scan revealed that the growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery. She recalled waking up after the procedure with intense pain and being told that her chances of survival were slim if they didn’t operate again. This time, they needed to access her brain through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia is now “in perfect health.

Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, is thankful for her supportive family. Following her serious stroke in January 2024, her nearest and dearest swiftly gathered around her.

“I messaged them that I had just experienced a stroke and shared an image,” she recounted to TopMob News correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024. “Everyone rushed to my aid.”

Since Cori faced additional health issues, her hospital stay extended beyond what she had anticipated.

“I could have left the hospital after my stroke,” the star of Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story elaborated. “However, my lupus wasn’t in good shape. My kidneys were failing. There was a lot happening.”

Currently, Cori is on the road to recovery.

“I’m doing well,” she stated. “I only needed to regain some motor skills. Other than that, I was fine.

In the early part of her twenties, Shailene Woodley’s health presented numerous challenges. To the point where she started losing her hearing, could barely walk without needing extended rest, and everything she ate upset her stomach. This was a complex mix of various health issues, different diagnoses, and conflicting advice from doctors.

Determined to find answers, Shailene, who has a background in holistic medicine and herbalism, sought help from both conventional medical professionals (MDs) and independent healers. It was a decade-long quest for relief.

During this period, the strain on her physical health led to other complications like fear of food, body dysmorphia, confusion about identity, and feelings of insecurity within herself.

After addressing both her physical and mental wellbeing, Shailene is now in a much better state of health. She shared that she’s grateful for being able to say that she’s healthy now.
