How To Equip A Saddle To Your Horse In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, whether it’s Pebbles or another steed, you’d aim for them to move swiftly and comfortably. Once you acquire a horse, it’s essential to equip it with a suitable saddle.

As an avid equestrian, I must admit that acquiring a saddlebag is a breeze, but the process of attaching it to my beloved steed, Pebbles, can be a bit intricate. Once I’ve got one, I find myself needing to adhere to certain procedures. What’s great about this gear is that I can equip it alongside other essentials, creating a storage space for items I don’t need at the moment.

How To Get A Saddle

To begin with, make your way to either a horse trainer or a leather craftsperson to acquire a saddle. In the Trosky area, you have two options for your destination.

Initially, there’s a character named Mikolai, who serves as a horse handler, and he’s stationed within the Nomad camp situated towards the west of the region. On the opposite side of your map, you can converse with Matthew, a saddler, who resides in Trosky Castle.

As a gamer, I’ll find that both vendors offer equine gear for purchase, but since it’s high-quality stuff, I should be prepared to shell out a good chunk of my Groschen. Prices can go as high as 500 Groschen for the premium ones.

Saddlers are indicated by a small, white horse’s head icon on the world map.

How To Put A Saddle On A Horse

With your new saddle now at hand, let’s guide you through the process of preparing it for your horse. Here are the steps you should follow:

1. Check the Saddle Fit: Ensure that the saddle fits your horse comfortably. Adjust the gullet width and panels to fit your horse’s withers properly.
2. Girth Up: Fasten the girth securely, but not too tight. The girth should be snug enough to hold the saddle in place without causing discomfort.
3. Pad It Up: Place a protective pad under the saddle if necessary. This will help cushion your horse and reduce friction between the saddle and its back.
4. Saddle Blanket: Add a blanket or a waterproof cover underneath the saddle to protect it from moisture, dirt, and dust.
5. Check for Security: Make sure that all the straps, buckles, and stirrups are securely fastened.
6. Adjust Stirrup Length: Adjust the stirrup length so that your feet rest flat in the stirrups when you’re sitting in the saddle with a slight bend in your knees.
7. Final Check: Give everything a final check to ensure it’s all properly secured and comfortable for both you and your horse before mounting up.

  1. Head into your inventory and find the saddle there.
  2. Click on it, or press square/X on PlayStation or Xbox, to move it to your horse.
  3. Then, tab across to the horse section at the top of the screen.
  4. Now, find the saddle in your horse’s inventory and select it to equip it. A grey shield symbol will show next to it when it is equipped.

It’s time to fit the saddle onto your horse once you summon it to where you are. This will make Henry feel much more at ease as he explores the realm in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
