Phasmophobia – Developer Announces 2025 Roadmap, Will Feature New Maps and Events

Kinetic Games, creators of the cooperative horror game Phasmophobia, have announced their intentions to enrich the game further in 2025. On their own website, they’ve shared that two significant updates are in store for Phasmophobia, featuring new maps, improvements to existing ones, and seasonal events to keep the game fresh and exciting.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that starting off, my favorite game Phasmophobia is receiving an exciting update called Chronicle! This new feature allows us, as players, to record the chilling evidence we collect during our ghost-hunting adventures. We can now upload videos and pictures of our investigations, and we’ll be handsomely rewarded based on the value of this evidence we submit.

In our upcoming game overhaul, the focus will shift towards enhancing player character designs. This enhancement includes fresh models and smoother animations for your characters. Additionally, we’re working on introducing new personalization options that are set to be unveiled in a future update, scheduled for 2026.

In terms of map updates, the game Phasmophobia is set to receive a fresh addition. Although the developers have been tight-lipped about specifics to keep things interesting, they’ve hinted that this new map will be quite compact, similar in size to the different houses featured in the game. Moreover, the developers have mentioned that future maps will also follow a similar pattern, which streamlines their development process and allows for more frequent releases.

At present, the design team is busy creating revised editions of Bleasdale Farmhouse, Grafton Farmhouse, and 6 Tanglewood Drive on maps. Among these updates, Bleasdale Farmhouse will be unveiled first, scheduled for launch in March. The studio characterizes these map redesigns as comprehensive artistic transformations encompassing fresh elements and animations, meticulous visual details, and some structural adjustments.

2025’s lineup of seasonal events is set to incorporate feedback received on last year’s events, starting with a refreshed twist on our Easter celebration. As we move towards Halloween and Winter, players will delve into their own investigations alongside the Blood Moon cult and later face off against Krampus.

As Kinetic Games continues to develop updates and releases for this year, they’ve also hinted at additional content for Phasmophobia in 2026. This will encompass what the studio calls “Horror 2.0”, along with fresh map designs and other enhancements.

The studio mentioned that they aren’t prepared to discuss everything just yet, but rest assured, they’re putting in a lot of effort to ensure what they eventually reveal will be well worth the anticipation.

The game “Phasmophobia” is accessible on personal computers (PC), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. For an even spookier experience, it can be played on PC using a virtual reality headset. Our Early Access review of the PS5 version from last year provides additional information.
