Jimmy Kimmel Stands Up for Taylor Swift Against Donald Trump's Jealous Jab

Jimmy Kimmel is fearless—especially when it comes to defending Taylor Swift.

At the 2025 Super Bowl, the singer known for “Cruel Summer,” who is romantically linked with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, drew jeers from the crowd when the big screen at Caesars Superdome showed her and her companion Ice Spice in the audience. Shortly after this event on February 9th, former President Donald Trump, who had also faced boos at the New Orleans stadium, commented on this incident via social media.

In a tough turn of events, it seemed that even the Kansas City Chiefs had a challenging evening, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Swift. On the same evening, Trump posted on Truth Social that Swift was met with boos at the stadium. He added that supporters of MAGA are known for being unforgiving!

After the president’s post, which was part of several about a 35-year-old individual, it didn’t take much time for people to rally around Swift’s support. In fact, Kimmel expressed his own perspective on Trump’s mocking remarks in his opening segment.

On the February 10th episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, the host remarked that she didn’t receive boos from the stadium like some people might. Instead, it was actually the Philadelphia Eagles fans who were booing her, not her, as she stayed for the entire game.

At that instant, the “Karma” performer handled the crowd’s frosty reception with poise. As soon as the stadium screen displayed Adam Sandler and Paul Rudd together, a shot of the “Gems” singer followed. When the boos started ringing out, Swift’s eyes widened, she briefly looked at Ice Spice (who was beside her), and then chuckled it off.

Kimmel went on to agree with you, saying, “Indeed, it seems like Trump is envious of Taylor Swift. After all, she boasts a larger following, greater wealth, and no children – aspects that Trump lacks.”

Interestingly enough, instead of criticizing further, he chose to praise Brittany Mahomes, the wife of NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, on that occasion.

Trump expressed his preference for Mrs. Mahomes over Taylor Swift during an interview on Fox News. He admitted that, contrary to popular belief, Mrs. Mahomes is actually a big fan of his. In contrast, he was not a fan of Taylor Swift. However, his change of heart came with time. It would have been unthinkable for him to endorse Joe Biden. Mrs. Mahomes appears to be a very liberal individual and has often endorsed Democrats. She may face consequences in the marketplace due to this political stance.

He went on to express, “I’m fond of Brittany. I find her impressive. She’s quite enthusiastic about MAGA. In comparison to Taylor Swift, she’s the one I prefer. After all, she’s the wife of a renowned quarterback, and I consider her simply fantastic.

A short while after that, he made his dislike for the singer even clearer by posting, “I detest Taylor Swift,” on Truth Social.
