In the upcoming Marvel series, “The Vision & The Scarlet Witch,” the beloved couple is set to reunite. In fact, this year marks the golden anniversary of their wedding in the comic world. Marvel is commemorating this milestone with a five-issue limited series. The creative team behind this special project includes Steve Orlando as the writer and artists Lorenzo Tammetta and Jacopo Camagni, who have previously worked on “Scarlet Witch” titles.
Steve Orlando carries on his journey delving into Wanda Maximoff as an individual superhero in “The Vision & The Scarlet Witch“. As stated in the Marvel press release, “Scarlet Witch’s magical prowess has never been stronger. However, to assist Vision, she’ll require more than brute force alone!” This narrative unfolds into a moving tale that will challenge their souls and potentially shatter their hearts, reflecting their long-term relationship.
The cover art for “The Vision & The Scarlet Witch” comic series shows a white Vision, similar to the last time he appeared in the MCU during the conclusion of “WandaVision.” This leads one to wonder if the comics are aligning Vision’s appearance with his form in the upcoming “Vision Quest” series. However, it could also be that this is a natural progression for Vision following his reunion with Scarlet Witch. The Marvel description of the miniseries hints at Vision being fatally injured, leading Scarlet Witch to take drastic steps to revive him. It’s possible one of these outcomes involves Vision turning entirely white.
Orlando expressed that when it comes to the Scarlet Witch, anything is imaginable. To commemorate their 50th wedding anniversary, the Vision and the Scarlet Witch are uniting once again to confront an ominous, destructive force originating from beyond not just the grave, but the universe itself. Wanda and Vision stand as one of Marvel’s most significant couples, not only due to their marital bond, but for all that has transpired between them. Their relationship has evolved remarkably, and it’s a unique, captivating aspect of their characters. They have experienced separation, reunion, and growth, forming a strong bond that transcends the typical romantic relationship — it’s a mature connection, and it’s something truly extraordinary. I feel privileged to be involved in it, and I can hardly wait for fans to witness how we put their bond to the test! With Death knocking at their door, Wanda and Vision find solace only in each other.
Tammetta expressed that working on the Scarlet Witch project feels like a dream come true,” she said. “Sketching Wanda in action never fails to be enjoyable and motivating, and I’m thrilled to keep delving into her powers within this series too. It’s an immense honor for me to depict her alongside Vision, given how significant these characters are to fans.
Camagni expressed his fondness for the pair Scarlet and Vision in the Marvel Universe. He considers them a couple with the most captivating history, bordering on a Victorian-era romance. The prospect of developing their characters and their relationship fills him with joy and anticipation, as he eagerly looks forward to it!
The tenth issue of Marvel’s “Scarlet Witch” marks the end of this storyline and will be available for purchase starting March 5th. Following that, “The Vision & The Scarlet Witch” is set to debut on May 21st.
