61-year-old actor Peter “Navy” Tuiasosopo passed away on Monday as confirmed by his family, with his son sharing the news via Facebook. Known for his role as Honda in the 1994 Street Fighter film and numerous other roles, Tuiasosopo died from heart complications in Phoenix, Arizona at around dawn on Monday. Son Manoah expressed gratitude for thoughts and prayers, promising more details about a tribute event soon. The announcement sparked an outpouring of condolences from fans on social media.
As a devoted film lover, I feel compelled to express my deepest gratitude for the outpouring of thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes during this challenging time. My heart is heavy as we bid farewell to an extraordinary individual – my father. But his spirit lives on, and it will continue to guide us in every step we take.
Though our hearts are filled with sorrow, I am certain beyond a shadow of a doubt that he now resides in Heaven, reunited with his cherished family members, including his brothers, sisters, daughter, and the one they all adored – Jesus. No longer does he have to endure any pain, for he has found eternal peace.
His unwavering strength, boundless love, immense compassion, and selfless kindness will forever linger in our hearts, a testament to his incredible impact on this world. His legacy will continue to shine brightly, inspiring us to emulate the beautiful qualities that made him so extraordinary.
1) The post was endorsed by “Peter’s Spouse, Children, and Grandchildren.” Tuiasosopo had connections with numerous professional athletes and actor Bob Apisa. He spent his childhood in Los Angeles, California, before playing for the L.A. Rams for a short period after graduating from college. It was during this time that he decided to pursue acting, making his debut in the 1991 sports comedy “Necessary Roughness.
In the years that unfolded, I found myself gracing the silver screen more frequently than ever before, with roles in films such as “12 Rounds,” “The Scorpion King,” “Austin Powers in Goldmember,” and “Speedracer” to name a few. However, it was my electrifying performance in “Street Fighter” that truly catapulted me into the limelight. Yet, I also dabbled in comedy, and my repertoire includes numerous laugh-out-loud performances. More recently, you might have spotted me behind the bar as Big Bob on “New Girl,” and I’ve made a recurring appearance on the revival of “Magnum P.I.” In essence, I’ve become a familiar face in both comedies and procedurals.
Currently, Tuiasosopo is working on one more project that’s in post-production – an action comedy titled “Gimme My Money“. As of now, there hasn’t been a release date announced for the film, which was both written and directed by Bill Vigil.
Manoah shared that we’ll decide on the specifics for a fitting memorial event and share the details when ready,” he said. “Once more, we appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers during these challenging and emotional days. Keep us in your thoughts.” Love to you all!
