Captain America: Brave New World Takes Flight With Action-Packed Final Trailer

The trailer for the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World” was aired during the Super Bowl, and now, the intense scenes from this movie are gaining momentum across the internet. This 60-second clip offers one final glimpse into the next Marvel Studios film (hitting theaters on February 14). It shows Anthony Mackie’s Captain America training Joaquin Torres (played by Danny Ramirez), who is taking up the Falcon mantle, and features an impressive display of evading the rampaging Red Hulk, with U.S. President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (portrayed by Harrison Ford) in the role.

In a heartfelt conversation, President Ross tells Sam Wilson, who took on the role of Captain America after Steve Rogers, “Sam, our entire lives have been dedicated to serving this nation.” He continues, “Unfortunately, the indestructible metal known as Adamantium has caused us to clash instead of working together.” You can see their conflict in the final trailer below.

The element known as raw adamantium is incredibly adaptable and unpredictable, extracted from the partially risen Celestial being Tiamut, whose presence was potentially destructive to Earth, as depicted in the 2021 film Eternals. Cap expresses concern, finding himself entangled in a global crisis on the verge of turning into an all-out war between nations when he states, “We can’t let this fall into the wrong hands.”

The versatile and volatile adamantium element is mined from the partially emerged Celestial being Tiamut, whose existence in 2021’s Eternals posed a threat to Earth. Cap worries, as international tensions rise and war looms, expressing his concern by saying, “We can’t let this get into the wrong hands.

Amid brief appearances of Ruth Bat-Seraph, formerly known as Black Widow (Shira Haas), mind-controlled super-soldier Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly), and the sinuous assassin Seth Voelker/Sidewinder (Giancarlo Esposito), Captain America and Falcon find themselves under attack from hostile jets. Sam deftly navigates these attacks using his vibranium-enhanced wingsuit to cut through them. The setting includes the underwater detention center known as the Raft.

Or, in a shorter form:
Captain America and Falcon, amid encounters with characters like Ruth Bat-Seraph, Isaiah Bradley, Seth Voelker, and the Raft, dodge attacks from enemy jets that Sam skillfully navigates using his vibranium wingsuit.

A single scene soars above Tiamut’s colossal form, while another thrilling segment depicts Captain America safeguarding himself using his Wakandan-crafted, energy-absorbing armor as he faces off against the enraged Red Hulk following his pyrophoric metamorphosis, which ignites the White House.

Director Julius Onah explained to ComicBook that regardless if Captain America is facing off against an airplane or the Hulk, his new suit can absorb energy. He finds this aspect fascinating because it aligns with the character’s trait of enduring what comes his way and then utilizing it against his foe.

Since Sam didn’t use the super-soldier serum that granted his predecessor extraordinary strength and speed, Onah pointed out, “He’s not traditionally super-powered. He doesn’t have access to a serum or vast wealth. However, he remains remarkably powerful.

In my critique, I noted that Marvel had high expectations for him, envisioning scenes of brick-smashing and brutal combat. Yet, what sets this character apart is not just the action-packed moments, but also the subtle aspects – his scrappiness, resourcefulness, and ability to utilize whatever’s at hand to defeat an enemy.

As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Liv Tyler reprises her role as Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson takes on Samuel Sterns/the Leader in Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: Brave New World.” These characters made their mark in the 2008 version of “The Incredible Hulk,” and now they’re back for more action. Catch it in theaters this Friday!
