Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’s success
Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice” sequel, titled “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” was a long-awaited project spanning multiple decades, but the wait proved worthwhile. This much-anticipated follow-up to Burton’s ’80s supernatural tale re-immerses fans in the enchanting world of the mischievous demon once more, as his realm is reopened. The film surpassed expectations, ranking as Burton’s second highest grossing movie ever. The original cast that fans were eager to see reunited, coupled with the addition of Jenna Ortega from “Wednesday,” made it irresistible for both new and old viewers to appreciate this film.
In a twist of events, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” marked Tim Burton’s second-biggest box office debut in his career, trailing only “Alice in Wonderland,” which launched with an impressive $116 million. Furthermore, it secured the third-highest opening weekend of the year, surpassed solely by “Deadpool & Wolverine” and “Inside Out 2.”
Could there potentially be a “Beetlejuice” sequel in our future, given all that success? However, as reported by /Film, Burton seemed less than eager about the notion, offering a somewhat indirect response.
Well, they’re discussing it, but if it goes as planned, I’d be working on it when I’m over 100 years old. It’s theoretically possible, but I have my doubts about that. With the advancements in modern medicine, who knows? But to be honest, I’ve never been particularly drawn to this idea – if someone brought it up to me, I’d probably steer clear. This is just something that piqued my curiosity. Maybe something else will catch my attention down the line, but for now, I’m still wrapping up this project.
