Prince Harry’s most honorable title is parent.
Prince Harry, who is father to Archie Harrison (age 5) and Lilibet “Lili” Diana (age 3), together with his wife Meghan Markle, has discussed the significant talks initiated around the Invictus Games – an event he founded for wounded and ailing military personnel to take part in motivating competitions.
Harry expressed in an interview with People (published on February 12) that he is captivated by the topic. He finds it engaging to discuss this subject with his children, such as explaining why a person might be missing a limb or have a unique appearance. While it can be difficult, he believes it’s crucial to have these conversations.
The 40-year-old individual, who had spent a decade in the British Army, pointed out that Archie is exceptionally inquisitive. He explained, “He frequently asks questions such as ‘How did they get hurt? What’s a mine? What’s everything here?’ This can lead to an unintentional exploration of sensitive topics, particularly with children of this age, because they lack filters and are extremely curious and inquisitive.
Though his children eagerly ask a multitude of questions, Harry understands that not every time does he possess the accurate responses.
He emphasized his efforts to accurately depict the circumstances of our rivals, as well as the strategies we employ at Invictus to enhance their lives and provide opportunities for personal transformation,” he continued.
Harry founded this competition over a decade back with the aim of motivating soldiers who had served and were recuperating. He’s optimistic that the spirit of the Invictus Games will also stir inspiration in Archie and Lili.
He expressed his amazement at the athletes, swiftly maneuvering across the field in wheelchairs, participating in basketball, wheelchair rugby, sitting volleyball, and various other sports, during the 2023 Games held in Düsseldorf. He hopes that his children will embrace all sports they desire, believing it to be essential for everyone.

In response to a question in 2015 by Sky News about whether the birth of his niece Princess Charlotte prompted thoughts of settling down, he responded: “I don’t believe you can rush these things. They will occur when they are meant to.” He also added that, while he would love to have children at that moment, there is a series of steps one must go through first.
In the past, Meghan Markle also bought a Cartier French Tank watch with her future daughter in mind. She shared that she had always admired this particular watch. When she learned that “Suits” was renewed for our third season (which felt like a significant achievement at the time), she decided to treat herself and purchased the two-tone version of it. She had the words ‘To M.M. From M.M.’ engraved on the back and intends to pass it on to her daughter in the future.
As a lifestyle expert, discussing the topic of fatherhood has often reminded me of Prince Harry, the younger son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. Much like him, I’ve had moments throughout my life where the desire to become a father was overwhelming, particularly during overseas travels when I found myself yearning for children at that very moment. However, there are times when I find myself hesitant, even avoiding the thought of parenthood, thinking ‘I don’t need kids right now.’ The decision is not rushed; there have been instances where the idea of having children has temporarily lost its appeal for me.
In 2017, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their engagement and had their initial joint interview. Predictably, the subject of having children eventually came up. “Absolutely,” Prince Harry stated then, with Meghan by his side, smiling, “We’ll take things one step at a time, and hopefully, we’ll start our family soon.
Meghan expressed that it was like magic for her when she became a mother after Archie’s birth. She found it incredibly wonderful, and with the two greatest men by her side, she was truly content and happy.
Ever since Archie made his grand entrance in May 2019, I’ve been completely blown away! I can’t even fathom how women manage what they do, but my partner and I are overjoyed and incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love and support from everyone. It’s been an incredible journey, so we wanted to extend our heartfelt gratitude and share this amazing experience with all of you!
At the National Youth Mentoring Summit in 2019, Harry pondered over the valuable insights he’s gained since becoming a parent. During his speech, he revealed, “I’ve been struck by several things today, with the most significant being the impact of unseen role models. Maybe there’s someone here who doesn’t realize they’re looked up to. For them, you influence them to be more compassionate, strive for excellence, become more successful, and make a greater difference. As a father, I now understand that my son is constantly observing me, copying my actions, and perhaps one day will emulate my path.
During a public appearance in 2020, Prince Harry expressed that our dear one is our utmost concern, but after that, our duties come second. Essentially, we are doing everything possible to contribute to improving our world.
Harry and Meghan discovered a positive aspect during the coronavirus pandemic by spending quality time with their son, baby Archie. As Meghan expressed in October 2020, “We’re fortunate to have this extra time to witness him grow, as we would normally be traveling and working more outside of our home.” She added, “Without COVID-19, we would miss out on many precious moments. So it’s been a wonderful opportunity for family bonding.
Harry noted, “We witnessed all of Archie’s first milestones – his initial steps, his first sprint, his earliest stumbles, and much more.
As a lifestyle expert, I find myself reflecting on a significant moment that took place in May 2021 – a rare TV appearance by Meghan during Global Citizen’s VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World special. In this heartfelt event, she spoke candidly about her upcoming pregnancy and the anticipation of welcoming a daughter into our family. I vividly remember her words, “My spouse and I are overjoyed to soon be expanding our family with a daughter. We share this joy with countless families worldwide.” She also emphasized the importance of empowering young women and girls globally, stating, “When we think of our little one, we envision all the young ladies worldwide who deserve the opportunity and encouragement to guide us into the future.
She stated, “The course of their future leadership hinges upon the choices and actions we make today, which will not only benefit them but also establish a prosperous, fair, and empathetic tomorrow for everyone involved.
Meghan appears briefly in her spouse’s Apple TV+ series titled “The Me You Can’t See,” co-hosted by Oprah. In this episode, she appears to honor her expanding family by wearing a shirt that carries the message, “Nurturing Tomorrow.
On June 4th, their little girl, Lili, was born to the couple. They expressed their joy on their Archewell Foundation page, saying, “Lili joined us on June 4th, surpassing all expectations we had. We are beyond grateful for the love and blessings we’ve received from around the world. Thank you for your ongoing kindness and support as we celebrate this extraordinary moment in our family.
On June 8th, 2021, Meghan will debut her first children’s book titled “The Bench“. This book is a heartfelt tribute to fatherhood, as seen through a mother’s eyes. In a press statement released in May, she explained that the story was originally a poem she wrote for her husband on Father’s Day, shortly after their son Archie was born, which later evolved into this book.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it this way: In a letter penned to House Speaker Representative Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer in October 2021, I expressed my strong backing for the implementation of mandated paid parental leave within the U.S. context. During that time, I was brimming with joy upon welcoming my daughter into the world, but I must admit, I also felt overwhelmed due to the ongoing pandemic which had put a halt on normal operations in hospitals, schools, and other essential establishments.
Unlike many parents, we were fortunate enough not to face the tough decision of either staying with our newborn during their crucial early months or returning to work. We had the ability to bring our baby home, and during this precious and important time, we could focus entirely on our children and family. This choice allowed us to avoid daily dilemmas about childcare, employment, and healthcare that many families have to grapple with.
Meghan went on to say, “No family ought to confront such difficult choices. There should be no need for families to pick between working for income and caring for their children (or relatives, or themselves, as a well-rounded paid leave policy would address).
Today in April 2022, Harry admitted that keeping his work-at-home life separate from his parenting duties was essentially impossible.
Archie is the one who disrupts our Zoom meetings the most,” he pointed out. “And he tends to join late quite frequently too, which is kind of interesting.
Harry observed that his son was starting to display a similar playful wit, a trait he himself possessed. “I make an effort to preserve it,” he said. “I believe that spirit of mischief is what makes life worth living.
Meghan admitted she was concerned for her—and everybody else’s—kids in the age of social media.
In my life, being a mother holds the greatest significance, with the exception of being Harry’s wife,” she expressed during her October 2023 speech at the Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in the Digital Age, which was a part of Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day.
She continued, “I should mention that I consider ourselves lucky since our kids are still quite young, but the rapid changes in the situation scare me; it’s something we’ll likely face soon.
As a parent, Meghan pointed out that while days seem endless, years pass quickly. In light of this, she emphasized that everyone, including herself, is impacted by the digital realm and social media. What everyone truly yearns for is a sense of safety in these spaces.
During a visit to Lightway Academy in Abuja, Nigeria in May 2024, Meghan addressed a group of kindergarteners, saying, “Our daughter, Lili, is significantly smaller than all of you. She’s only turning 3 soon. A few weeks ago, she looked at me and said, ‘Mama, I can see myself in your eyes.’
As she spoke so directly, Meghan noted, “Yet, I interpreted her words in a unique light. It struck me, ‘Indeed, I recognize myself within you, and you within me.’
