During the Capcom Spotlight showcase held not long ago, they unveiled that Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, their PS4 remaster, is set to release on May 23rd, 2025. This game can be played not only on PlayStation 4 but also on PlayStation 5 thanks to backwards compatibility. You can watch the new trailer for it above.
As a die-hard fan, I’ve been eagerly waiting for over six years since Capcom refreshed the original Onimusha: Warlords. The sequel, now remastered, promises improved graphics and updated controls – a straightforward enhancement. Yet, these updates pave the way for the upcoming game, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, slated for release on PS5 in 2026.
