Mech BREAK ‘Global Storm’ open beta test for Xbox Series, PC begins February 23

The open beta testing phase for the free-to-play multiplayer mech action game “Mecha BREAK,” titled “Global Storm,” is set to commence on February 23 at 2:00 a.m. Pacific Time / 5:00 a.m. Eastern Time. This test will be accessible on both Xbox Series and PC platforms via Steam. The announcement was made by the game’s developer, Seasun Games.

Here is an overview of the test, via Seasun Games:

During the open beta test for “Global Storm,” accessible on PC and Xbox Series X|S, players will have access to all the gameplay elements that will be present at launch. This trial version offers a glimpse of the opening tutorial, character and mech personalization, an expansive space station to explore, each of the main game modes, a practice room, and 13 unique mechs known as “Strikers.” In addition, this beta introduces several updates such as refined maps for the Operation VERGE (6v6) and Ace Arena (3v3) game modes, a player reputation system, balance changes to various Strikers, combat finisher moves, and fresh customization options for both pilots and mechs.

For the first time ever, the brand new player-versus-player-versus-environment mode “Mashmak” is now open to the public. In this game, pilots engage in fierce battles over the Mashmak Isles, rich with the rare mineral Eruptive Inorganic Carbide (EIC), also known as “Corite.” Theia’s Vanguard, a notorious organization, has taken control of these islands, and their aggressive actions are causing Corite to spread rapidly, bringing the world closer to catastrophe. The ongoing conflicts have resulted in erratic Corite pulse storms that can obliterate anything they encounter.

In these tough situations, innovative gear has been created to give Striker pilots an edge. Pilots have the option to activate various new tools such as weapon boosts and armed gliders, which can adaptively improve their Striker’s abilities in close-quarter fights, healing, sniping, suppressive fire, and beyond, allowing them to accomplish the mission successfully. As the fight intensifies, even more potent weapons and equipment will become accessible for the most dedicated pilots.

Mecha BREAK is due out for Xbox Series and PC via Steam, followed by PlayStation 5 later in 2025.
