The anime series based on Dragon Ball Super wrapped up following the finale of the Tournament of Power, but fortunately, both the animated version and its original content continued to progress. In the realm of animation, two films were produced – Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. On the other hand, the manga kept publishing new chapters featuring Goku and Vegeta facing fresh perils. As Dragon Ball Daima is about to conclude this month, fans of the Z-Fighters are left pondering the future of the franchise, but here’s some exciting news: there’s good news on the horizon for supporters of the Z-Warriors!
The manga adaptation of Dragon Ball Super is set to resume on February 20th, with a special one-chapter release. Instead of following Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, or Piccolo, this new installment will shift focus back onto Trunks and Goten. Unlike their previous attempts to achieve Super Saiyan God, the story now finds these high schoolers patrolling city streets as the latest incarnation of the Great Saiyamen. Readers may be surprised to learn that this one-chapter release is not a standalone event, but rather, there’s more to come in this shonen series.
Dragon Ball Super Will Continue
The label given to the forthcoming unique issue isn’t a one-shot, as it has been referred to as the 104th chapter of Dragon Ball Super. Although this doesn’t guarantee that artist Toyotaro will resume a monthly release pace, it does signal positive momentum for the shonen manga in continuing its narrative after the passing of creator Akira Toriyama. The antics of Trunks and Goten as superheroes are mostly comedic, but the hybrid Saiyans are capable of delivering powerful blows when necessary.
Regarding potential plotlines for “Dragon Ball Super” in the future, it’s currently uncertain. One significant challenge the Z-Fighters may face is Frieza, who has reappeared as an alien tyrant in the “Granolah The Survivor” story arcs and boasts a new transformation. This new form of Frieza, known as “Black Frieza,” has become incredibly powerful after spending time in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber, capable of defeating both Vegeta and Goku with just one hit each. Additionally, fans are hopeful that the final episode may hint at the return of “Dragon Ball Super” anime.
The Shonen Franchise’s Future
In a recent conversation, Dragon Ball producer Akio Iyoku shared that they’re diligently planning for the future expansion of the franchise. He expressed his confidence that Dragon Ball will endure for many decades, as they are constantly developing new ideas and concepts to keep the story going.
