Today marks the unveiling of Season Two for Twisted Metal, featuring Anthony Mackie from Captain America: Brave New World and Stephanie Beatriz of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Additionally, we now know when this exciting season will be available for viewing.
The show follows the same title as the classic PlayStation racing series and recently unveiled a thrilling sneak peek featuring new characters, among them Anthony Carrigan from “Superman: Legacy” playing Calypso. Furthermore, a poster for Sweet Tooth (portrayed by Will Arnett or Samoa Joe) was also shared. Excitingly, it’s been confirmed that Twisted Metal will return with its second season in the summer of 2025.
In an announcement for the series, Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai) explained that the story centers around John Doe (Anthony Mackie) and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz), who are willing to jeopardize their lives by participating in a perilous demolition derby event. The grand prize? A singular wish, the fulfillment of their deepest desires. However, there are sixteen other competitors with their own wishes at stake. Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz headline an impressive cast that includes Will Arnett, Joe Seanoa (Samoa Joe), and Anthony Carrigan as Calypso, in a rollercoaster ride of speed, laughter, suspense, and unforgettable characters. Unfortunately, not everyone will make it through the season alive.
2023 saw the arrival of an intriguing show that’s left me hooked! The series, initially met with favorable responses following its 10-episode debut, blended humor and action in a way that resonated deeply within the realm of Twisted Metal. Although it didn’t follow the games verbatim, the upcoming season promises a closer alignment, complete with over-the-top races and an abundance of explosions. The series has rapidly climbed Peacock’s list of most-binged shows, leading to the exciting announcement of a second season.
