Some quests may require you to traverse the map repeatedly, and although you can walk everywhere in Avowed, it could be quite time-consuming and potentially dangerous due to encounters with roaming enemy groups. Fast travel is free of charge and Obsidian has made it user-friendly, so here’s a rundown on how fast travel works in Avowed.
How to unlock Avowed fast travel points
As a seasoned gamer, I just gotta tell ya, to swiftly dash about the land of Avowed, all you gots to do is saunter up to one of them fancy Fast Travel Torches. Once you’re nearby, they’ll automatically light up, no fuss or muss needed from you. These torches look swanky, with a flickerin’ pink flame atop ’em, and when you’re close enough, you’ll get a heads-up on the screen, and voila! It’s now marked on your map. On top of that, every time you establish an Avowed Party Camp, it’ll also serve as a fast travel spot, makin’ your journey across this vast world a breeze.
How to use Avowed fast travel
To quickly travel using the Avowed fast travel feature, simply open up your map and move your cursor over one of the previously unlocked Fast Travel Beacons or Party Camps. Once it’s highlighted, a ‘Travel Here’ option will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click on it and confirm the ‘Fast Travel’ message that appears to be instantly transported to your selected location.
During many instances, Avowed fast travel is at your service. However, there might be moments when it’s temporarily unavailable while you navigate through a crucial part of the narrative. In such cases, a Fast Travel Beacon icon with a strike-through will appear next to your compass in the top left corner of your screen, indicating that you must continue on foot until you finish the ongoing story mission.
