Feedback is flooding for publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Obsidian Entertainment’s newest role-playing game, Avowed. Mostly, the criticism is positive about the game’s world structure and battle mechanics, although there are some differing views on the storyline and player autonomy within the game.
A new fantasy experience in the world of Eora
Back in 2015, Obsidian Entertainment introduced gamers to the realm of Eora via Pillars of Eternity. It’s fantastic to see this universe continuing to grow, albeit in a more concentrated fashion such as with Avowed. I’ve been immersed in it while crafting guides, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed casting spells and conversing with characters like Kai.
Absolutely, I’d like to highlight our review for Avowed penned by Zachary Boddy. He gave it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars, expressing that “Avowed transports us back to the realm of Eora from Pillars of Eternity, and The Living Lands offers an eccentric, vibrant, and wild journey like no other. Obsidian Entertainment has skillfully replicated the allure of RPGs such as Skyrim that makes delving into every corner engaging, and slipping into this world is remarkably immersive.
To be honest, I’m eagerly anticipating reaching the end of this game session and moving on straight away to a fresh adventure with a distinct representative of the Aedyran Emperor!
On February 18, 2025, the game “Avowed” will be released simultaneously on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam, the Xbox App, and Battle.net. As an exclusive title from Xbox, the standard edition comes with access on the first day for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, and PC Game Pass as well.
