The long-awaited update for Stalker 2, version 1.2, is now available! As detailed in its Steam announcement, this update builds upon the progress made by the previous 1.1 updates and goes even further. With over 1,700 individual fixes and enhancements, expect numerous bug fixes, changes in NPC behavior, upgraded visuals, and much more!
In this latest update, I’ve noticed quite a few significant tweaks. For one, the NPC shooting accuracy has been refined, making it less likely for bullets to penetrate walls and adding more unpredictability to their aim. Stealth mechanics have also been revamped, with some enemies gaining new abilities, like the Controller. The update enhances overall NPC behavior and performance during specific sequences. Plus, it addresses numerous glitches that could disrupt both main missions and side quests. Over 450 adjustments have been made to the game map and level design, addressing spots where players might get stuck, such as X-17 Lab.
Last year when Stalker 2 initially came out, it received acclaim for its distinctive ambiance and style. Yet, numerous gamers and reviewers pointed out several technical glitches in it. In TopMob’s review of Stalker 2, critic Richard Wakeling mentioned the “deluge of technical issues,” but found it challenging not to be captivated by its allure. With the latest patch and previous ones, we can hope that most of these bugs have been resolved. Additionally, Stalker 2 is now playable on Xbox Series X|S.
When launched last year, Stalker 2 was applauded for its unique presentation and atmosphere, but many players and critics pointed out numerous bugs. In the review of TopMob, critic Richard Wakeling highlighted the “onslaught of technical problems,” yet he found it tough not to be enchanted by it. With the rollout of the latest patch and its predecessors, we can hope that most of these issues are now gone. Notably, Stalker 2 is playable on Xbox Series X|S.
