EastEnders’ Jessie Wallace proud of soap as it turns 40

Jessie Wallace, who joined and left the cast intermittently since 2000, has lauded the soap opera and shared her feelings of immense pride for being associated with it.

In an exclusive interview with TopMob during our EastEnders photoshoot, Wallace expressed his gratitude for being involved in the production, stating, “It’s truly an honor to be a part of something as remarkable as this show.

I clearly recall watching the initial episode around my mid-teens; it had a distinctly sepia tone. That first episode sticks in my memory. It’s hard to believe that was 40 years ago! Being part of this continuous journey has been truly remarkable.

“I’m very proud, very proud for everybody.”

Wallace opened up on some of her former cast members she’d like to see return, too.

Speaking about Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), Wallace backed her for a stint.

I believe the crowd will find it appealing since she is truly memorable! Although her appearance was brief, she famously exclaimed, “You ain’t my mother!” I suspect this moment will stick in people’s minds, and they will adore it immensely.

“I’ve wanted her to return for years; I loved working with Michelle.”

While Zoe is certainly tempting, would Wallace be keen for anyone else?

Absolutely, it would be great to catch up with Kacey Ainsworth, or Little Mo as she is known. I’ve really missed spending time with her and Elaine Lordan, too.

We can but hope!
