STALKER 2 Patch 1.2 Fixes 1,700 Bugs and Overhauls ‘All Aspects of the Game’

The 1.2 update for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, developed by GSC, has now been launched, addressing over 1,700 issues across all platforms. In a related announcement, it was disclosed that various aspects of the game were targeted during this process, including AI, user interface, weapon balance, and open-world navigation mechanics.

That’s quite an extensive collection indeed, and it’s no surprise coming from GSC, who have consistently put in tremendous effort to enhance STALKER 2 ever since its launch in December 2024.

Major Update 1.2

In the 1.2 update for STALKER 2, developed by GSC Game World, one key focus was improving the game’s artificial intelligence (AI) system and related mechanics.

In this latest version, improvements have been made across the ‘A-Life’ universe, enhancing the precision, covertness, actions, and social interactions of NPCs within The Zone. Additionally, the team has rolled out additional repairs and adjustments to the numerous mutants inhabiting this open-world game.

In the latest update for STALKER 2 (version 1.2), numerous performance improvements have been implemented. Specifically, GSC has fixed certain problematic sequences leading to frame rate drops, as well as addressed a significant memory leak concern.

The extensive list of enhancements in this significant update by GSC is nothing short of astonishing, as they’ve meticulously addressed even minor aspects. For example, they’ve examined issues like visual anomalies when NPCs appear to smoke, as well as improving the clarity of PDA models in dimly lit environments. The attention to detail is remarkable.

Over numerous adjustments have been made to all levels of gameplay within the entire collection of adventures in Stalker 2, including both significant and minor tasks players encounter while progressing through the storyline of Heart of Chornobyl. In December, despite encountering a few problems during certain missions, I awarded Stalker 2 a positive review.

In Patch 1.2, you’ll find more fixes than new additions, so don’t be surprised if there aren’t many novel discoveries when you next log into the game. GSC has included additional controller functions and introduced a ‘night music theme’ for Zalissya exploration. Moreover, some fresh notes have been hidden across the open world, but that’s primarily what’s new.
