Dante’s Valentine’s Day Surprise

For quite some time, Dante has been a significant character within the realm of video games, first appearing through the 2001 PlayStation 2 game titled “Devil May Cry.” Since then, the offspring of Sparda has been featured in numerous sequels and crossovers. Although this upcoming Netflix anime adaptation isn’t the debut of Dante in animation, it could very well be the finest to date. In anticipation of Valentine’s Day this year, the bearer of Ebony and Ivory is offering fans a little something special before his series becomes available on Netflix starting April 3rd.

The storyline of Devil May Cry is filled with intense action, but at its core, it revolves around two brothers: Dante and his somewhat selfish brother Virgil. Frequently, these siblings clash as Virgil pursues self-discovery and power through any available means. Regarding Dante’s romantic life, Trish, his ally, seems to hold a special place in that regard, even if they never formally acknowledged their relationship. As the new series promises to reintroduce beloved characters along with introducing fresh faces, it will be intriguing to see whether Dante can reach the same level of renown as the Belmont family and Alucard from Castlevania.

Happy Valentine’s Dante

On the eve of Valentine’s Day, I’m thrilled to share that Netflix has unveiled a fresh poster featuring Dante, who’s clearly embracing the festive vibe! The Devil May Cry franchise always knows how to infuse humor into its presentations, and this image below is no exception.

Adi Shankar Speaks

Lately, executive producer and series creator Adi Shankar shared insights about the unconventional soundtrack of the upcoming anime that left fans bewildered, especially with its choice of Linkin Park’s “Rollin” as the intro theme. He explained, “The setting is not contemporary; it’s my recollection of the world, before and after 9/11. The music selection mirrors this. My series combines hits from that period and reinterpreted musical masterpieces from the DMC franchise (by @powergloveaudio). Brace yourself, as you will not anticipate this soundtrack. Anime is in for a shock with this soundtrack.

In terms of the Devil May Cry series, its style uniquely combines action with humor in a way that few other narratives manage. The most recent installment, Devil May Cry 5, brought characters like Nero and V into the fray alongside Dante as they faced a recurring menace. Although there’s no official confirmation of a sixth game from Capcom yet, it’s evident that the franchise is exploring innovative paths to keep the tale of Dante engaging in today’s world.
