This SmackDown episode was action-packed with significant WrestleMania ramifications at play, yet it offered more than just that build-up. Tiffany Stratton was supposed to defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax, but Candice LeRae threw a curveball into the mix, causing Trish Stratus, a wrestling legend, to get involved. The excitement hadn’t even subsided when Charlotte Flair made an entrance and announced her selection of Stratton as her WrestleMania 41 opponent. However, the WWE didn’t stop there; Trish Stratus reappeared and declared her intention to participate in the Elimination Chamber match.
Initially, let’s discuss the contest between Stratton and Jax. Jax aggressively advanced and forced Stratton into the nearby turnbuckle in the corner, followed by hurling her towards the opposite corner, beginning with an energetic advantage. However, Stratton gracefully dodged the subsequent moves, but a miscalculated counter put Jax back in command. Eventually, Stratton regrouped and executed a dropkick, only to be unexpectedly slammed to the mat and nearly pinned.
In the ongoing match, Jax maintained control, hoisting Stratton onto the top rope and subsequently slamming her to the center of the mat for a pin attempt, but Stratton managed to avoid defeat by kicking out. Following this, Jax propelled Stratton towards the corner and forcefully collided her head with the ring post before executing an elbow drop and another pin attempt; however, Stratton showed resilience by just barely avoiding defeat before the count of two.
Following the break in advertising, Stratton gained some momentum. He managed to bring Jax to the mat, followed by a swift missile dropkick aimed at the ex-Champ. Stratton then tried to lift Jax back up but was caught off guard and slammed down again. Jax executed a leg drop and attempted to pin Stratton, yet Stratton miraculously survived with a 2-count. Jax managed to grab hold of Stratton, but Stratton slipped away and struck Jax’s leg out from beneath her, paving the way for a brutal double stomp off the top rope.
Initially, Stratton received a two-and-a-half count after being kicked out, then she climbed back to the top rope only to be caught by Jax. Together on the ropes, Jax hoisted Stratton onto her shoulders and performed a powerful Samoan drop. Jax attempted a pin, but Stratton stunned everyone yet again by managing to kick out for a second time, this time at just two counts.
In a swift turn of events, Jax leaped high, executing a leg drop, only for Stratton to miraculously survive with another kick. This left Jax reeling in distress. Moments later, an unfortunate collision between Jax and the ring post ensued, providing Stratton an opportunity. Seizing it, Stratton performed a breathtaking moonsault, sending Jax tumbling outside the ring. With swift movement, Stratton dragged Jax back into the ring and followed up with a powerful moonsault again, attempting to pin Jax down, but Jax managed to show resilience by kicking out.
In the match, Jax managed to knock out the champion and prepared for a final blow, but Stratton intervened, causing Jax to fall to the floor. Stratton was picked up, escaped, and retaliated by slamming Jax with a spinebuster. Stratton attempted a high-flying move, but Candice LeRae interfered, resulting in Jax’s disqualification. However, Jax recovered quickly and brutally pressed Stratton against the corner before executing the annihilator. But their battle wasn’t over yet.
In the heat of the cinematic spectacle, I swiftly snatched a sturdy chair, ready to intervene. But just as I was about to act, Trish Stratus burst in like a knight in shining armor, shoving Jax out and engaging in a fierce duel with me instead. The colossal Jax collided with Stratus, sending her crashing into the corner turnbuckle with a thunderous impact. Then, in a moment of sheer power, she delivered a crushing leg drop on Stratus before being forcibly ejected from the ring.
It was at this point when Charlotte Flair made her way to the ring as Stratton was still reeling from the recent assault. Once inside the ring, Flair taunted Stratton slightly before declaring, “I pick you. I’ll face you at WrestleMania.” Later on, we found Stratton backstage and asked for her response to Flair’s challenge, but just then Stratus approached.
As a die-hard wrestling fan, I’ve got an exciting suggestion: “Hey, Stratton, I’ve got a plan brewing. How about we pair up against Nia Jax and Candice LeRae? We could make it big in Toronto during the Elimination Chamber event!” The look on his face said it all – pure excitement! He couldn’t help but exclaim, “You mean it’s going to be Tiffy and Trishy time in Toronto?” And yes, that’s exactly what I meant! It looks like we’re set to team up when the Elimination Chamber hits Toronto. Can’t wait!
